If there was ever a teen comedy to rival Mean Girls then this is it! This is the sharp, sarcastic comedy from director Betty Thomas, whose previous credits include Charlie's Angels & Surviving Christmas. John Tucker Must Die, like Mean Girls has a great script that comes as a result of great observation of how teens today live.
This is the brilliant teen comedy about John Tucker (Jesse Metcalf) the most popular guy in school & the basketball team captain, nothing is out of John's reach. John is definitely a hit with the girls at school & has no problem dating more than one girl at once. He's clever though & knows that if he's caught dating more than one girl at once he'll be dead so he dates three girls all from different cliques.
When an argument erupts between the girls during a gym class the three girls suddenly discover that they are not the only ones dating John Tucker & as a result of this they vow that John Tucker must die!
This film has a really good cast including Jesse Metcalf (Desperate Housewives), R&B singer Ashanti, Brittany Snow (Hairspray) & Sophia Bush (The Hitcher). The cast all seem to gel well with each other & this makes John Tucker Must Die that much more enjoyable to watch.
John Tucker Must Die has a good storyline & it's entertaining from start to finish. This film was never going to win any Oscars but that's not the point of it. This film is exactly what it appears to be… a light-hearted teen comedy, nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't quite reach the heights of success that the likes of Mean Girls but anyway you look at it this is still a brilliant teen comedy.
This film runs for approximately 86 minutes & the DVD has numerous special features including; A music video by Matt Willis Deleted scenes Commentary Live performance by People In Planes
