Advantages: A chance to see John Lennon again Disadvantages: We can't have him back
Lennon and McCartney were immense influences on my life and on the lives of millions of fans and musicians. This review is about ?Lennon Legend? ? a DVD of songs and footage of John and Yoko way back when we were all a lot younger and the gods of rock were the real deal.
The fashion icons, John and Yoko start off the DVD seen from behind as they walk through a misty lane, up a drive to the door of a mansion. They walk in silence as the first verse of Imagine starts playing. Then they disappear into thin air and we are inside the house with John playing in a white room, with white furniture, as Yoko goes around the white walls letting light in at the white-shuttered windows. If you?ve not heard this song before ? and this seems barely conceivable ? it holds a wish for peace and a world with no wars, religious hatred, and Nationalistic ...
Advantages: A mostly great selection of John Lennon's post-Beatles work Disadvantages: The tracks could have been put in a slightly different order
the end of the 1960s which though initially was inspired by the Vietnam War, was delivered as a plea to end all wars. As to why it didn't work....along with the whole of the rest of the 1960s movement...I feel John sums it up in no.9 above "....war is over if you want it". They didn't want it!

Well....that's it! You can download or buy this album from the net (EBay, Amazon, plus various other download and CD/DVD sales sites) for as cheap as a fiver.
I'm not sure who was responsible for the compilation of this album, and far be it for me to criticise those "in the know", but if I'd have put this collection together, I'd have re-arranged the order of some of the tracks to how they appear here.
JohnLennon was a true working-class hero, an extremely important part of my childhood and teenage ...
Advantages: An honest account of life with John Lennon. Disadvantages: Very little that hasn't been written already.
I did a search on Amazon to see how many titles came up for Beatles books. Result: 1182. For JohnLennon: 445 results. So did we really need yet another book?
Cynthia Lennon was born in 1939, the week the war began and lived in Hoylake ("over the water" from where JohnLennon lived, in what was seen as a 'posh' area). Having won a scholarship to the Junior Art School in Liverpool at the age of 12, it now looked as if the death of her father would put a stop to her ambition to be an artist. Thankfully, her mother insisted that she continue her education. She started at the Liverpool College of Art in 1959 ...

DVD Description
This 1969 concert brought John, Yoko, and the Plastic Ono Band to Toronto's Sweet Toronto Peace Festival--introducing Yoko to the heroes of her husband's childhood: Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. Captured on film by D.A. Pennebaker, who had already directed the seminal Bob Dylan documentary DON'T LOOK BACK, this is Lennon's only filmed performance with the Plastic Ono Band.
