David Starsky (Ben Stiller) is one of the most dedicated and straight talking cops on the Bay City force; he lives and breathes the law, just like his mother did before him. At the other end of the scale is Ken Hutchinson (Owen Wilson) a cop who doesn't mind stepping breaking the rules if he gets something out of it. After Captain Doby (Fred Williamson) pairs them up as partners, their first case finds them discovering a mystery watched up body. After some investigating, they find that the dead man was involved in a huge drugs deal, transporting a new type of cocaine. With the help of their man on the street Huggy Bear (Snoop Dogg) they uncover a whole web of crimes which leads them too one of the most influential men in Bay Water, Reese Feldman (Vince Vaughn). Review of Starsky And Hutch (DVD)

Crime doesn't pay

Advantages: One of Woody's early funny movies!
Disadvantages: The name Woody Allen may be enough to put many off

appealing to others. As far as performances go (I admit, I am not the best judge of this, only noticing when people are really bad) everyone is adequate for a film of this kind and well, Woody is Woody! Louise Lasser makes a brief appearance, she would go on to co-star in another of Woody's early films, Bananas which is also excrutiatingly funny. A lot of the trademarks of later films are here, such as the predominantly jazz soundtrack. This review is of the Film Collection DVD of the film, which is a budget style release (I have seen this on sale for as little as £5.99) with few extras. There are a few fact files, quotes and a nicely put together menu page but little else. I find that DVD extras are usually a waste of time, so this doesn't bother me. The Adam and Joe DVD - Best of all 4 series

Advantages: all the best bits on one disc, tons of extras

I bought the Adam and Joe DVD as a present for my boyfriend knowing he'd enjoyed watching it back in the day (the show ran from 1996 to 2001). Although I enjoyed watching the series I wasn't expecting too much from the DVD as there were a few sketches that were always a bit hit or miss. However the DVD is a condensed version of the four series' of "The Adam and Joe show" that were originally shown on channel 4. It contains all the "best bits" and is to summarize in one word- HILARIOUS, The show took the form of short sketches with links filmed in Adam and Joe's "bedsit" in London. 'Adam and Joe' are Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish, two friends who met at school and have been working together on comedy sketches and projects ever since.
