Advantages: all the best bits on one disc, tons of extras Disadvantages: n/a
...I bought the Adam and JoeDVD as a present for my boyfriend knowing he'd enjoyed watching it back in the day (the show ran from 1996 to 2001). Although I enjoyed watching the series I wasn't expecting too much from the DVD as there were a few sketches that were always a bit hit or miss.
However the DVD is a condensed version of the four series' of "The Adam and Joe show" that were originally shown on channel 4. It contains all the "best bits" and is to summarize in one word- HILARIOUS,
The show took the form of short sketches with links filmed in Adam and Joe's "bedsit" in London. 'Adam and Joe' are Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish, two friends who met at school and have been working together on comedy sketches and projects ever since.
As I mentioned the show is sketch based, and the DVD is a compilation of all...

Advantages: excellen as an insight to flamenco guitar Disadvantages: flamenco is hard! not reccomended for beginners
...I have been playing guitar for roughly two years now and due to my eagerness to learn different styles this book provided me with the perfect oppertunity to learn flamenco, it even came with a dvd (there are also some cd copies i am led to believe).
The first thing that i noticed when starting this book is that this is PLAY flamenco guitar, not LEARN flamenco guitar. There is not much teaching of the techniques that are used in flamenco guitar (if you watch the dvd really closely you may be able to pick some up for yourself), therefore i would reccomend this only to players with experience (not neccesarily in the flamenco style but with a good grounding in playing accoustics and having some ability to play fingerstlye). There are only about 3 pages in this book that contain theory.
That said for those who have some experience this book...

Advantages: A really pensive film Disadvantages: Maybe a little too long
...Meet Joe Black is in my opinion a very strange film. It's rather long at nearly 3 hours in length yet the storyline is very simple. The way in which it is constructed however and because of the nature of the story itself makes the film a rather pensive one and so the 3 hour length gives the audience time to think and reflect on what the story is trying to tell you.
The film begins with a chance meeting between Claire, a millionaire's daughter and a charming young man in a coffee shop. From the start there is definitely an air of romance within the air. Could this be the man her dad was always telling her to find. Unfortunately as the pair leave the coffee shop in opposite directions a car hits the young man.
The millionaire, Bill, himself at this point is due to turn 65 in a few weeks and after hearing a voice he believes to be...
