...I bought the Adam and Joe DVD as a present for my boyfriend knowing he'd enjoyed watching it back in the day (the show ran from 1996 to 2001). Although I enjoyed watching the series I wasn't expecting too much from the DVD as there were a few sketches that were always a bit hit or miss. However the DVD is a condensed version of the four series' of "The Adam and Joe show" that were originally shown on channel 4. It contains all the "best bits" and is to summarize in one word- HILARIOUS, The show took the form of short sketches with links filmed in Adam and Joe's "bedsit" in London. 'Adam and Joe' are Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish, two friends who met at school and have been working together on comedy sketches and projects ever since. Advantages: A really pensive film
Disadvantages: Maybe a little too long

...Meet Joe Black is in my opinion a very strange film. It's rather long at nearly 3 hours in length yet the storyline is very simple. The way in which it is constructed however and because of the nature of the story itself makes the film a rather pensive one and so the 3 hour length gives the audience time to think and reflect on what the story is trying to tell you. The film begins with a chance meeting between Claire, a millionaire's daughter and a charming young man in a coffee shop. From the start there is definitely an air of romance within the air. Could this be the man her dad was always telling her to find. Unfortunately as the pair leave the coffee shop in opposite directions a car hits the young man. Advantages: Great Family film
Disadvantages: Made my son cry!

...Mighty Joe Young is a lovely Disney film which a saw a few years ago but also managed to pick up on DVD for my husband last week as he said he would like to watch it again. He is not related to King Kong as my hubby has told my boys but he is just another large gorilla! The film starts with a gorilla and a young girl both becoming orphans as poachers kill both their parents. The mother worked in the jungle looking after the gorillas and trying to stop them from being hunted and killed. The daughter Jill, played by Charlie Theron, promises her mother that she will stay in the jungle and continue doing her work and also look after Joe the gorilla now he also has no mother.
