Advantages: all the best bits on one disc, tons of extras Disadvantages: n/a
I bought the Adam and JoeDVD as a present for my boyfriend knowing he'd enjoyed watching it back in the day (the show ran from 1996 to 2001). Although I enjoyed watching the series I wasn't expecting too much from the DVD as there were a few sketches that were always a bit hit or miss.
However the DVD is a condensed version of the four series' of "The Adam and Joe show" that were originally shown on channel 4. It contains all the "best bits" and is to summarize in one word- HILARIOUS,
The show took the form of short sketches with links filmed in Adam and Joe's "bedsit" in London. 'Adam and Joe' are Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish, two friends who met at school and have been working together on comedy sketches and projects ever since.
As I mentioned the show is sketch based, and the DVD is a compilation of all ...
Advantages: Sound Quality is perfect, best performance seen from Satch to date. Disadvantages: Special Features not so good
This is an absolute \'must buy\' for Satch fans! This is his most polished and inspiring performance to date. The sound quality is top notch and the new line up gives a real tight ,solid sound to all tracks. The tack listing is well balanced and provides long time favorites mixed with more recent material. The new Peavey amp sounds fantastic on this DVD. Ok, it doesn\'t have Stu Ham on Bass, but the new Bassist (Dave Larue) locks in better (Im my opinion) with drummer Jeff Campitelli, allowing Satch to do what he does best! Rhythm guitar duties by Galen Hansen are spot on and he too locks in well to the groove with the others.
Extra features arn\'t anything special, but this is more than made up for by the main event!!
I\'ve seen this DVD 4 times now and its just as good on 4th viewing as it was on the 1st! ...
Advantages: Packed full of superb cover versions of classic songs. Disadvantages: Album sleeve is just two pages.
Born in Sheffield, England in 1944 JoeCocker (born John Robert Cocker) is one of the finest soul/blues/rock singers to come out of the United Kingdom.
His performances give the impression of a man totally immersed in his art and are truly sung from deep in his soul. When you listen to this album it is more like listening to a private performance than it is listening to highly produced studio tracks. The production is great but feels more "real" than you normally experience from an audio recording.
This album was issued in 1989 in Holland but all the tracks are what you would expect from their titles and are in English.
Some of the tracks are "live" recordings. These are: "Midnight Rider", "High Time We Went",
This album has many of his very best tracks most of which are cover versions. The good news is that he only chooses great ...
