Fraggle rock was a kids and grown ups favourite television programme from the 1980's. Produced with the help of Jim Henderson's Muppets creations this show combined cute characters, enjoyable song and excellent moral teachings of friendship importance and caring for others.

This DVD contains 3 episodes which are run back to back which cuts on time and makes the whole running only 48 minutes in length. What they've done with the orginal format is quite displeasing actually, although this version is less fuzzy than the vise one they've cut down the episodes so that theres no theme tune at the start of each one, nor is there any ending credits. This is a real shame, my favourite bit was always the amazingly up-beat and admittely catchy theme tune. I can never help but sing along. However they decided to cut it for some reason. And I'm not happy, I have to go the menu selector and run from the start each time I want my theme tune hit. Also the end credits have been removed - this also sucks as the special guests that they have in the odd episode goes now, unknown. I also like to know who does the voices for each puppet as it's intersting to find out some are done almost all by one person.
The episodes included on this DVD are 'Boober gorg' , 'Blanket of Snow, Blanket of Woe', and 'Inspector Red'. The first episode called boober gorg is all about Boober who gets struck on the noggen with a raddish and then thinks he's a Gorg and must protect the raddishes from the fraggles. In a bizarre twist to the tale he joins forces with the mean giants who try to capture his friends. Finally he comes to his senses and is very sorry, a sing and a song as with most things in fraggle rock, puts things right. The second episode is about Mokey who forgets to cover up the trach heap before it starts to snow in winter. As a result poor old Marjory the trash heap is frozen solid the fraggles fuss and fight at first but then Boober and the gorgs help Mokey to make it all better and save dear Marjory. - A good episode, teaches children about the fact that mistakes happen and that they can be overcome with a little help from your friends. The third episode is called 'Inspector Red' and is based upon a detective theme. There's a puzzle in the neighbourhood. Who stole the ancient fragglehorn? Noone seems to know. So Red plays detective to solve the strange and bizarre mystery. Which of the suspects is guilty? Would a guilty Fraggle let an innocent Fraggle take the rap? Ooooooh who only knows. A good song in this one and a real fun one to watch. 7/10 great stuff just shame theres no intro theme tune :(
DVD bonus features include some wicked behind the scenes footage, a game ' Fraggle-oke! Follow the bouncing radish while singing', some cool fraggle songs and even a fraggke rock trivia quiz. Which if you get right unlocks a bonus episode!
Overall a 3 star rating, nothing special for £9.99. Although the extra features are lots of fun the price isn't justifiable as it's only 48 minutes of actual viewing. Still would be great for any fraggle fan this xmas, young or old. However I wouldn't have paid this much knowing how little you get for the money. Thanks anyway for reading, wishing you all the best, mintz x x x

I'd be enormously disappointed to get just three trimmed down episodes! Surely they could have put 5 or 6 on one DVD! Still, the fraggles kick ass, old skool! John
