I have seen Jim Davidson on stage three times in the last 12 months plus I am a woman. I know he gets a lot of bad press but the way he expresses his opinions is very funny. The DVD has some special extras that I can assure you are just as good as the show.
Background =========
Jim Davidson was born in Blackheath and from a young age he liked to be the centre of attention. Was going to follow in the foot steps of his brother and join the Navy but a girl told him not to so he didn't.
He has been married, four times; his first marriage was when he was 18 years old. He admitted himself to a clinic for his alcohol addiction in 1994.
Once he got his life back together he proved himself as a family entertainer on Big Break and The Generation Game. I still think he is best on stage doing what he does best, taking the p***.
The Show ========
For those people who think that this DVD is the same old material, I can assure you it is not completely all his old cracks. Jim's style has not changed he still hosts his show like he is having a chat with his mates and of course there is his usual attacks at the people in the front row!
His analysis of the British humour is wonderful like how we come to the aid of those in need but still have time to send funny SMS messages about it. The impressions he does are as just as good as they were when he did then originally, I don't think that will ever change.
Jim also states that American soldiers have been watching too many American War Movies. His comparison between the way both the American and the British would throw a grenade is brilliant.
The Extras =========
The extras show the background work what goes into him doing a show, also what happens when the sound goes wrong. Even though the sound is not working correctly he is still entertaining the audience and taking the mickey out of his sound/lighting staff.
Overview ========
The price of this DVD was quite high, but I find that most Jim Davidson's ones are (maybe that is because of all the wives he is paying for), I paid £16.99 at ASDA but I feel he is worth every penny. I find that this kind of humour will never go out of date, it may not be politically correct but it is good for a laugh and always brings me to tears of laughter. I can highly recommend this DVD as high entertainment. This is adult and British comedy at its best.
