Jeff Green - Back From The Wilderness DVD

...If ever there is an example of all the good stuff being in the trailer then it's for Strange Wilderness, the latest movies from Happy Madison studios. I remember having seen the trailer earlier in the year, thinking I might really enjoy this; the reality however was few laughs, and poorly cut together movie that annoyed me while trying to be funny. Peter Gaulke (Steve Zahn) inherits his father's nature orientated TV show Strange Wilderness, he effectively ruins it narrating excitement over animals having sex and filming things he really should not be seeing. When studio Head Ed Lawson (Jeff Garlin) decides it's time to pull the plug on the show, Peter decides to hunt down a big story ; that's when long lost family friend Bill (Joe Don Baker) turns up, he claims to know the location of mythological beast Bigfoot. ...Well what can I say Van Wilder is great, right up my street. This film is for anyone who liked the classic ‘Animal House’ and is soooo much better than the teenage comedy trash that Hollywood keeps pumping out. What happens when a son of a rich businessman stays as a student at college for seven years, and then suddenly gets cut off? What is Van Wilder to do, give up or use his social skills that have built up over the last seven years to make some money, have some fun, get the girl, graduate, have a life changing experience, and most importantly completely stitch up the posh arrogant rich kids. In this farcical comedy an element of the fourth wall has to be broken down to detach the story from the world of the screenplay and into reality. Advantages: good entertainment and some funny scenes

...situation you are bound to come up with one or two hilarious situations, and in this film there are many. From the start of this movie you know your going to be entertained, as you meet Wally ignoring the help from his sister as he walks around the town, his independent attitude getting him into some comical situations. Then when you meet Dave, with his laid back attitude to life and his ability to lip read, you know the movie will be at least half decent. There is a car chase scene with a difference as the driver happens to be Wally, and his only aid is an unusually hyped up Dave…. This is side splitting part of the movie. In fact, the entire movie is great, giving good tame entertainment and comical banter, some action and adventure, a little romance in sorts and a very good combination between Pryor and Wilder who simply make this film what...
