The Black Forest, A place of dreams

Advantages: Excellent hill walking, Low Key Ski resort in the winter
Disadvantages: None! well, its a bit isloated.... but that's good right?

Well to start of i'll get it out of my system... im a quater german, that hails from the black forest town of Triberg (held the Ice skating winter olypics back in the 20's!). But being embarassed of my heritage is something I am most ceratinly NOT. The Black Forest is a Wonderful Place to go on holiday for the young and old alike. There's something to do for everyone. During the summer the blackforest is made up of rolling hills, beautiful fields of flowers and some of the most breathtaking scenary in the whole of Europe. It is EXCELLENT hill walking territory, with the guest houses FULL to the brim during the summer months. Excellent places to go include the town of Schonwald, which translates into 'Beautiful valley' which has an amazing view coupled with some of the best restaurants in the black forest. The black ...

THE BLACK ARROW: A TALE OF TUNSTALL FOREST

Advantages: You may gain insight into a turbulent time in English History - the War of the Roses (white and red)
Disadvantages: It is not always easy to unravel who is on which side at which time; sentences can be long and complicated.

: A Tale Of Tunstall Forest" but this was changed when it was edited into book form ( five or six years later) to "The Black Arrow: A Tale Of The Two Roses" ~ Robert Lewis Stevenson himself considered the book as "Tushery" ~ written quickly to satisfy publishers and keep his readers happy without his usual extensive research and verification. It had a most attentive audience among young lads, who possibly identified with the seventeen year old hero, Richard Shelton, as he learnt valor and chivalry. (See extracts from the letters of RLS below). Each of the 33 chapters ends on a high note of suspense ~ making the reader anxiously wait for the next edition ~ to see what will happen next . . . The Book (and Chapter) Headings hint at the contents: Prologue ~ John Amend-All Book I ~ The Two Lads (7 chapters) Book II ~ The Moat House (5 ...

Review of The Black Arrow - Robert Louis Stevenson

pitch black-a dvd opinion

Advantages: decent, actioner, awesome DTS sound
Disadvantages: pointless featurette

I saw Pitch Black in a movie preview in May 2000 which was a few weeks before cinematic release. For some reason it was then out back a few months so I was happy I got into the preview. Due to the film being released in the USA way before it hit the UK anyone with a multi-region player had the opportunity to get it on dvd before UK cinemas and with the R2 release not far away this R1 release is still a better bet. For those who know nothing about the film I'll recap. A passenger spacecraft crash lands on an unknown planet. On board are various kinds of people and also a dangerous prisoner named Riddick. Naturally when they crash some are killed, others survive and the prisoner has escaped. This prisoner comes in the shape of one Vin Diesel who is a known ruthless criminal who has some problems with the rest of humanity ...
