I have to admit, I've only seen the very first "Friday the 13th" prior to seeing "Jason Goes To Hell" and none of the other films in between. Does it matter in terms of understanding this film? Well no, not really. The film is essentially more of the same!
The basic idea was that the original ... Read review

So what is the plot? Well we're back at Crystal Lake (why has nobody shut this place down for good yet?!) and Jessica Kimble is staying at a cabin there. The whole thing with the woman in the cabin was a trap and the FBI finally kill this knife wielding killer.
If only the film had been that short! But, sadly, we have to go through Jason's post-mortem and here, the doctor discovers Jason's black heart is still beating. Jason then possesses the doctor and "Jason" lives to murder again.

The basic idea was that the original director of "Friday 13th" would produce this film in 1993 and then this would be the last ever - hence Jason supposedly does go to hell. Of course two more films "Jason X" and "Freddy vs Jason" followed, proving evil never really dies or at least not until more money can be made out of it.
So what is the plot? Well we're back at Crystal Lake (why has nobody shut this place down for good yet?!) and Jessica Kimble is staying at a cabin there. While in the bath (in the dark!) she is visited by Jason and the usual knife attack, chase and screaming follows. However, outside, Jason is suddenly caught in the glare of spotlights. The whole thing with the woman in the cabin was a trap and the FBI finally kill this knife wielding killer.

This is where it gets really daft. Now, in the original film, Jason's mother mentions only having one child, unless I'm very much mistaken. In fact, that was the reason for her crimes. And yet, suddenly in this film Jason is looking for his sister and her family. What sister?! Oh and of course, Camp Crystal gets terrorised by Jason again!
Stupid plots and bad continuity aside, the usual horror conventions are here. Brutal slayings happen and those who have sex or look good are punished. Sadly we don't see much of actual "Jason" because he's possessing the bodies of other people.
Overall this is a very average film with a weak, unmemorable cast, except for the guy playing Jason (Kane Hodder) and he isn't even in it much. If you're a fan, watch this but otherwise, don't bother. It costs about £6 to buy on video and it's not worth it unless it's going to be added to a collection of "Friday 13th" movies.
Advantages: none at all Disadvantages: Too many glaring mistakes
...FBI guys started shooting at Jason I thought they were going to show this was a movie being shot at Crystal Lake, thats how unrealistic the whole thing looked. The missile was typical American overkill. I want to start by saying this. Jason died as a child, he drowned at Crystal Lake Camp, his mother did all the killings in the original movie, Jason never became an adult. ANY Jason film after the original is pointless as he is dead. Plot derailed. ... ...twice. Once he's inhabited by Jason he has no motive to kill either of the security guys (they have no idea he's Jason). How does Jason know where his corpse has been taken and how would he know where Crystal Lake is from that location? (plot derailed twice more, that makes 4). Did ANYONE notice the huge glaring continuity mistake when Jason takes over the Sheriff? He's strapped to a table with at least 8-10 thick heavy straps restraining him. The ...
