Out of all of the different versions of Jane Eyre, this is, in my opinion, supremely the best. I first saw this film after I had read the book and the film brought the book to life. The chemistry between Leila Clarke and Timothy Dalton with the charectors of Mr Rochester and Jane Eyre cannot be beaten. Although it it long in length, I think it is worth the wait. There is a delightful scene where Mr Rochester calls Jane a little niggot, you can see the laughter on their faces! Tears always well up when I see Jane's hurt atfinding out that her love is in fact married but joy appears when you see them finally get together. This is so true to the book. The scenery is beautiful. and Timothy and Leila really live the part. Excellent stuff!
