movies were still shown pretty regularly. I had enjoyed previous Capra movies, particularly those he had made before the war starring JamesStewart and this one touched my heart from the off...no doubt exactly what Capra had intended. Capra managed to turn Stewart into an idealistic everyman in his films and as a result also turned Stewart into one of the best-loved film actors of all-time.
The Plot

Everytime I hear someone mention "Anne of Green Gables" I instantly remember my childhood. It's so rare nowadays for the current generation of children to be interested in movies based on literature without violence, sex, or action.
