Advantages: You can watch it again and again and notice something different each time Disadvantages: It can never be the same as being at the venue
Reel Big Fish Live at the House of Blues is a music DVD recorded in 2003, and is one of a series of "The Show Must Go Off" DVDs produced by Kung Fu Records.
Although the concert begins with a few hiccups, it soon becomes clear why the band have such a devout following of "skankers". You really get a feel for the energy and buzz of the audience they are playing to, and you feel as though the band actually enjoy each other's company as well as the recognition they get for their music.
In my opinion, the DVD is 105 minutes too short, and although watching a DVD of a gig would never be the same as attending it for real, I know that each time I watch it I will notice something new, and take away some of the infectious happiness that they omit every minute that they grace the stage.
This DVD is highly recommended to all Reel Big Fish ...
Advantages: free DVD with josh cam, and video previews Disadvantages: none
After seeing this band live at the astoria in london I was glad to see that they had a livedvd out. And it was all i expected, jokes talent and warren fitzgerald dancing around in not much.
A huge set from one of orange counties best punk bands, the eclectic guitars, comedy vocals and the tight drumming of one of the best in the world josh freese. Over 7 cameras capture this live show, including the josh cam which lets you view the josh for the whole show. highlights include pizza tran where josh gives a high five to dave whilst still playing. also the vocal and guitar harmonies during my brain tells my body adds a touch of class to this set. the drum solo during behind the music just tops off the album completely showing that josh is still one of the best in the business. and the encore of "I have a date" shows that live is where ...
Advantages: Great songs - Both upbeat and slow. Excellent harmonica playing Disadvantages: None
Following a purchase of a harmonica, and a "teach yourself book", I have become interested in the Blues music scene. After watching a video by a proffesional harmonica player on youtube, I was directed to blues artists such as "James Cotton", "Little Walter" and others. Because he recommended their music to enthusiastic beginners, I decided to buy James Cotton - Living the Blues.
I was glad I did!
This album has both soul and passion, with catchy songs which make you want to grab a harmonica and play along!
There are 13 songs in total, each of which I will give my thoughts on.
1) Mississippi Freight Train - Theres no singing in this song, just pure quality harmonica playing. The classic "train" on the harmonica, it sounds great! Starts off slow, and gradually builds up to a fast beat, with the train whistling as loud as it ...
