Famke Janssen can feel free to squeeze me between her thighs

Advantages: Bond is back, Great cast, Famke is hawt!
Disadvantages: Slightly poor music, the follow up movies were naff, the Gadgets were poor

...last time we saw Bond, James Bond was in License To Kill back in 1989, then an overly long legal case effectively took James' license until Goldeneye brought the series back to life in 1995, the long duration between Bond movies. Not only had it been a while, but the actor (Timothy Dalton) had also changed (Dalton gave up the role) giving James another face. This time it was Irishman Pierce Brosnan (Mrs Doubtfire) who would fill the infamous dinner ...
...
It wasn't just James that had changed of course, the western world no longer had the threat of the USSR bearing over it (the USSR disbanded effectively broke in 1991 for those unaware) and the dividing wall had come down, just like the curtain. Germany was made a single unified country in late 1990 so no longer was their suspicion there either. Bond had lost his most fierce enemy, imagine Dr Who without the Daleks, this was sadly the situation ... more

...ask for your age, and James Bond was played by a Scottish bloke who spelt his first name funny so that it looked like it should be pronounced ‘Seen’? Now going the pictures costs about £20, the lady in the booth asks forty-year-old grown men when they were born and what school they go to, and James Bond is played by some Irish bloke called Pierce Brosnan, and in his first film as 007, is accompanied by a English bloke who spells his first ...
...lot of legal mumbo jumbo), James Bond, the MI6 British secret agent, returned to big screen for the seventeenth 007 thriller. After the relative failure of Timothy Dalton and his two late 1980s films, Bond needed a big boost to restore interest in the new nineties generation of filmgoers. The original Ian Fleming Bond was now far too old fashioned and adaptations of Fleming’s books were now out of the question. The Broccoli family, who had ...

the name's brosnan

Advantages: All the usual thrills and spills plus an excellent debut from Brosnan.
Disadvantages: 007 does not have as much to do in certain parts of the story, 006 does though!

...but he very nearly killed James Bond. He may have looked right and sounded right but, well.. he wasn't was he? Dalton quit the role after watching "Licence to kill" on a plane coming home from a vacation and even HE decided he was no good as Bond. The movie makers were debating whether to leave bond alone but felt he was worth another shot, up step Pierce Brosnan to save the day. There was a lot of pressure on him to do well, and he had actually ...
...that? He'd make a good James Bond." And by jove didn't he!! Eceryone has there own personal favourite, mine like many others being Sean Connery, nut I genuinely believe that Pierce Brosnan is the best since Connery. He DOES look and sound like Bond and on screen, unlike Dalton he has that essential "air" of 007 about him. The film itself was excellent with action, explosions, beautiful girls, gadgets and baddies. I hadn't read any reviews before ...

Born to be BOND

Advantages: A Great Bond Movie
Disadvantages: Considering the genre, none

...man who looks every inch James Bond, thank heavens for Pierce Brosnan; he is stunning in the role. Something else we have to be thankful for is that they didn’t make Bond, politically correct, because that would have been a serious mistake! So was the film good? Yes it most certainly was, as smooth and slick, as you like with today’s special FX the Bond genre has gone to a whole new level, it was all put together, very well indeed, by ...
...responsible for Vertical limit. Brosnan, gets great support from, amongst others, Sean Bean, who plays 006 Alec Trevalyan, and carries off an upper class English accent very well indeed. (I know he is English, but he’s not from that part of the country, so thumbs up to him.) Judi Dench plays M, and although her part is not very big she does bring a certain something to the film when she’s on screen. And there are parts for Alan Cumming, ...

a definitive review of GoldenEye

Advantages: A truly great James Bond film
Disadvantages: but it does pander to the odd fan cliche

...Starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Co-stars Izabella Scorupco, Famke Janssen, Joe Don Baker, Judi Dench, Robbie Coltrane and Sean Bean as Alec Trevelyan (agent 006). And so after six years, James Bond returns to the fray, this time portrayed by Irish-born actor Pierce Brosnan. It’s been a long time away from the big screen, and many things have changed. MI6 has a new Head of Operations, affectionatley referred to as ‘M’ and ...
...for the world's nuclear stockpiles. James Bond is sent to investigate a missing Russian military helicopter, and soon finds himself up against sadistic Xenia Onnatop, and former compatriot, agent 006. The twist in using a former MI6 employee as the bad guy works really well, and the performance of Sean Bean plays a large part in this. His cold-blooded attitude towards his former friend is startling, and Brosnan’s performance alongside this ...

Bond is back with a bang after 6 years away

Advantages: Brosnan is a complete Bond package
Disadvantages: Too long away

Following 1989's Licence to Kill, the 16th Bond film, there was a 6 year gap before another Bond film was made. This was due to many ownership rights of the Bond name, with MGM having sold to Quintex, and EON productions' parent company disputing the back catalogue rights. When the dust finally settled, Pierce Brosnan emerged as the new James Bond and Goldeneye was released in 1995. The Plot James Bond 007 and his fellow agent Alec Trevelyan, 006, infiltrate a chemical facility, but only 997 escapes, with Trevelyan being captured and shot. Nine years later, Bond finds himself searching for the Colonel who killed 006. He is now a General, and has stolen the systems controlling the dual Goldeneye satellite weapons. Bond must survive against the mysterious Janus, whom the General is working for, as well as his troops and a whole load ...

Review of Tomorrow Never Dies (DVD)

"She always did enjoy a good squeeze."

Advantages: A lot of fun
Disadvantages: A bit of a mess in places

shooting Remington Steele instead of doing Bond. Dalton had replaced him and played Bond in The Living Daylights but now Brosnan was replacing Dalton. The James Bond persona and numerous 007 rumours had followed the darkly handsome actor for several years and now for 1995's GoldenEye he would finally take the role he had coveted for so long. GoldenEye begins in the best possible way. A spectacular bungee jump from a dam announces that Bond is back. The pre-credit sequence is a flashback set in the former Soviet Union. 007 is on a mission with Alec Trevelyan aka '006' (Sean Bean) to destroy a chemical weapons factory. It's great fun to see Brosnan finally playing James Bond and although the pre-credit sequence does get a bit ludicrous towards the end you let them off because it's been six years and they obviously wanted to throw the kitchen ...
