audio book.Girls in Loveis the first title (followed byGirls Under Pressure) in a trilogy for older readers by the award-winning Wilson. Already an immensely popular author of books for younger readers (such asBad Girls,The Suitcase KidandDouble Act) she is likely, withGirls in Love, to prove equally popular with girls in their early teens. As well as dealing with typical boyfriend problems, this hilariously entertaining novel touches on the deeper pains associated with the loss of a parent and coming to terms with a new step-parent. Ellie, Magda and Nadine are determined to explore the as yet uncharted territory of the boyfriend. When best friend Nadine gets a boyfriend, Ellie finds herself saying that she's got one too. The trouble is, he's the too young, too nerdy and too ugly boy who fell in love with her during her boring holiday in Wales. But when Nadine's dishy boyfriend starts causing trouble we see just how important girlfriends are and just how lucky Ellie is to have found a boy who is really her friend. This is an amusing and delightful book by someone who clearly knows what she's writing about. --Tamsin Palmer
following the lives and loves of three buddies--Ellie, Magda and Nadine--each very different but each bound by an absolute bond of friendship. As ever, things are not running so smoothly for the girls. Ellie's romance is on its last legs, thanks to a persistent boyfriend, Nadine is "in love" with a boy she met on the Internet and is planning to go and meet him despite the other girls' insistence that things may not be quite as they seem, and Magda's hamster has died, leaving her less than happy with her friends' response to her grief. Three features. 'Girls In Love 1', 'Girls In Love 2', 'Best Friends' and 'Girls In Tears' which is based on the stories of Jacqueline Wilson, which follow the lives of three teenage girls, Ellie, Magda and Nadine.
Advantages: It has a really nice story about friendship Disadvantages: It's only siotable for girls
...GirlsInLove is the first in the series of four books by JacquelineWilson, it is followed by Girls out Late, Girls under Pressure & GirlsinTears.
It's all about three girls, the main character, Ellie and her bestfriends Nadine and Magda. It follows the ups and downs of their lives as teenage girls, with the pressures of boyfriends and Ellie trying to come to terms with the death of her mother and having her new stepmother Anna and half brother Eggs around.
Just to make things even harder for Ellie and here friends there is a twist in the story as nadine's boyfriend starts causing trouble. this books shows how important friends are and that it's always good to stick close to them. It really does how what life is like for teenage girls very well indeed! Its a brilliant book which I would recommend for 11 to 15 years olds....

Advantages: funny, wittily told, part of a trilogy. Disadvantages: a bit short.
...JacquelineWilson has written books for adults, but for last 20 years she has mostly been writing for young people.
She has an understanding of the way modern children of today live and the problems they face. Her books are fun to read. Some of the books she writes has elements of sadness, but they always include a sense of humour.
Girlsinlove is part of a trilogy.
Other books in the trilogy: Girls Under pressure and Girls out late.
