For those of you who don't know him or his music, JackJohnson is a singer/songwriter from Hawaii. He plays in a band with 3 other guys, a drummer, bass player and piano and he himself plays guitar. So far he's released 3 albums, and 3 DVD's in the UK and has just been here on tour. His music is sort of soft folk rock, with catchy melodies and lyrics. At times it can sound quite jazzy, especially with the talented Zach Gill on piano. He appeals to people of all ages, you wouldn't be embarrassed to find your parents listening to him either, he's just that good!
I bought this from Play.com for £12.99, it's also available from Amazon, HMV and many other music/dvd stores.
I've been a JackJohnson fan for a while now and having bought Thicker Than Water (his first DVD) I thought I would treat myself to this, and what a treat ...
Well, as my other reviews of JackJohnson's recordings suggest, I'm something of a JackJohnson fan and my review is therefore weighted with unregrettable bias. JackJohnson is, in my opinion, one of the greatest and most under-rated artists in the world at this moment in time. Want proof of this? Then listen to 'On and On.'
This is one of his four sensational albums, and some would argue it's his best. I still have to say that some of the tracks on 'Brushfire Fairytales' top the list for me, but this is undoubtedly one of Johnson's best efforts to date.
'On and On' is a thoughtfully composed collection of Johnson's guitar and vocals combination, both provided by him. And once again the lyrics are his own, and are intelligently designed to be inkeeping with his wide-ranging strengths as a recording artist.

Advantages: Everything you could want in a TV show Disadvantages: None
To try and put the greatest hits of The Simpsons onto one disc is foolhardy. There are so many classic, touching, hilarious episodes people love that if they did do a greatest hits package it would be so long that it wouldn't be able to fit on anyone's shelves, that is the quality of this show.
So this DVD, part of "The Simpsons Classics", contains 4 episodes, each accredited with some sort of landmark. We have "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", which was the very first episode and deals with Homer not getting his Christmas bonus, but in the end gets something much better. There's the 100th episode "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baddasssss Song" where Bart gets Principal Skinner when he brings Santa's Little Helper into school for show and tell day. There's also "Bart Gets an F" which had the highest ever ratings in America for a Simpsons ...
