Advantages: Best entry from Marvel for some time Disadvantages: Maybe too long timewise
...welcome to my review of Iron Man.
Iron Man is probably one of Marvel's strongest and up until recently one of the least complicated characters. Originally created by Stan Lee and first seen in March 1963 in Marvels Tales Of Suspense #89, Lee wanted a create a character that emulated the recluse billionaire Howard Hughes. Lee collaborated with scriptwriter Larry Leiber, artist Don Heck and the legendary Jack Kirby and from this the hero of Iron Man ... ...film has been made of Iron Man as previous mediums have been animation or comics and graphic novels. I was lucky enough to see this recently and to be honest was quite surprised at how much detail and research had gone into the story as the whole ambience and design of the film faithfully portrays the idea that the lead character is the wealthy head of what could easily be called the Family Business. The film stars Robert Downey Jr as the lead character ...

Advantages: Fun story line and great special effects. Disadvantages: The actors.
Iron Man portrays a story of Anthony "Tony" Stark, a wealthy weapons manufacturer and president of Stark Industries. This is Marvel Comics newest film, together along with The Incredible Hulk and it is brought to the big screen from neighbourhood favourites Paramount Pictures.
The beginning of the story is as follows. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) is on a business trip in Afghanistan, but the convey he is travelling in is attacked by a terrorist ... ...that he is, starts building Iron Man mark 1, or in a nicer way, a hunk of junk! However, the creation helps Tony escape, but his friend Dr. Yinsen tragically dies. When back in the US, Tony no longer wants to supply weapons to such criminals, and he announces that he is retiring. Only to make time for his new creation, Iron Man mark 2. After numerous weeks of development, Iron Man is ready. For his first test drive, Tony attacks the terrorist who ...

Advantages: Special effects, fun. Disadvantages: None.
...the USA trend right now. Iron Man (Tony Stark) is played by Robert Downey Junior who I have to say is wearing well for his age and reported 'issues'. The character Tony Stark heads up Stark Industries, a weapons manufacturer selling mainly to the good old U S of A military. However on a selling presentation in Afghanistan Tony Stark finds himself captured by some rebels, injured in the process, then tortured and forced to replicate his most destructive ... ...He makes himself the prototype Iron Man suit and escapes and when back in America denounces the arms industry and decides to devote his time to producing a greener, more efficient energy source. So two fingers up to American policy, on weapons/war and on energy. At the same time he develops a much cooler and better equipped version of his Iron Man suit.
What happens next is pretty much a good versus evil fight which has a dramatic ending (of course).

Advantages: Robert Downey Jr's performance and some good special effects Disadvantages: no major disadvantages
...without knowing much more about Iron Man than what I'd seen in one very impressive looking trailer. What I witnessed during that rainy afternoon was quite an impressive film.
The film is based upon an adaptation of the Iron Man marvel comics. It is directed by John Favreau (Elf and Zathura.) Iron Man opens with a couple of high-energy sequences that introduce Robert Downey Jr as the character of Tony Stark - a second generation, merchant of death, ... ...builds himself a suit of iron (with a few handy gun and flame-throwing additions) and successfully escapes. Quite how a giant iron suit can resemble a missile to even the most intellectually challenged henchmen is not quite believable but nevertheless, in a pretty depressing looking cave, the Iron Man suit is born.
Although the suit is destroyed in Starks impressive escape he leaves Afghanistan with an idea and a new sense of purpose. On returning ...

...Batman with no mention of Iron Man. With the recent decision to create movies for the Marvel family line of super hero's Iron Man has come into the picture. I recently went to see it after it came out in cinemas across the UK on the 2nd May earlier this month. The Storyline

The main character is Tony Stark who is billionaire from his business "Stark Industries" which is a weapons manufacturer. On sale of some heavy duty and ... ...(you guessed it) creates his Iron Man suit using pieces from the old weaponry provided which makes him bullet proof, the ability to throw fire from his hands and for a short while fly. Tony Stark uses his new toy to escape in which he is picked up by the US military soon after and is brought back to the US. After seeing what devastation his weaponry has created he announces to the world that Stark Industries will no longer be creating weapons which ...

Advantages: Stunning visuals Disadvantages: Maybe a bit long
...Stunning visuals throughout the movie make it a move you can watch again and again withouth getting bored of it. The storyline isnt necessarily the greatest, but it pulls it off thanks to the excellent Robert Downey Jr who plays The main character Tony Stark superbly. Hes a bit arrogant and knows hes brillaint but you cant help but like him anyway! Theres plenty of character development, so you get to know him pretty well, unlike a lot of movies where you end uop not really caring what happens to the characters! Stark is a weapons developer who is captured by terrorists and manages to escape using a very crude iron suit, and the story goes on from there really. What really sells the movie are the special effects. The suits are superbly developed and look fantastic. This movie is well worth the purchase and will keep you entertained...

...tetsuo - the ironman 1989
it is now my duty as i have watched this film several times to try and understand the meaning of it to pass on what i see as my knowledge of it to other people whao may not be as patient as me to try and figure out what the hell this film is all about.
i dont know how i am going to write this but here goes!
a man with a metal fetish runs into the road and dies
the man who killed him and his girlfriend both suffer the man by becoming metal in a strangely sick way, and his girlfriend by having sex with him as his penis turns into some sort of rotating power drill???
This is what you see but throughout the film there is references to the first metal man and it seems to me that his father beat him over the head and rammed a metal pole into his head that could not be removed, resulting in him becoming all...

Advantages: Excellent cinematography, brilliant soundtrack, unusual and shocking Disadvantages: a complete mind bending confusion!
...A fascinating and at times disturbing look into the world of fetishism and sado-masochism. It'd be near impossible to convey any sort of story line in the form of a review, but there is a loose narrative of sorts, involving a man's quest for revenge and his transformation from a meek Japanese business man into a hybrid of man and machine, hell bent on destruction and, it is finally revealed, apocalypse.
The power of this film to shock lies more in the imagery and unconventional filming style than in it's content, the story itself is something of a classic revenge story, but it is executed (pardon the pun) with such finesse in terms of cinematography it really does warrant multiple views.
The entire film is set to a brilliant soundtrack (if your idea of brilliance is similiar to mine, encompassing) elements of krautrock, noise, punk...
