The Film:
The film opens up on some fantastic scenery of sea and beaches and immediately you are thinking I want to go and live there. Some of the first scenes feature scuba diving with some wonderful colourful fish and shows people having fun. The teacher of the scuba diving class is Jared and he is a very good looking guy and then it shows another good looking girl in the form of Sam who is teaching some eager looking kids about sharks.
It soon becomes apparent that these two people are dating and live in trailers near to where they work. Sam and Jared are quickly joined by their friend Bryce and a new girl he is seeing Amanda. It turns out that all four of these people are keen scuba divers and love nothing else but to get into the ocean and explore. The scenery and sets are still amazing and you really want to be friends with these people so you can live their lives, it also wouldn't hurt to look like these people as they are all very good looking.
While the four of them are out diving one day, Jared spots a rock that he recognizes being from a ship. Soon they are all searching the ocean floor and finding bits of ships and more interestingly a large knife which looks to belong to a pirate character. Very soon they find a plane at the bottom of the ocean and inside it lurks some very interesting treasures which they investigate and believe there must be a sunken ship down there.
Day after day they go down and explore hoping to make the discovery of a ship and become rich from it. Unfortunately they are not the only people who are after their buried treasure and although it may not be for the same reasons, Sam and Jared may not have any choice but to help the others get exactly what they want. From now on, the movie is quite dark and focuses more on the dangerous parts of the sea and world in general.

My Verdict:
This film is a lot better than I expected and I think my sister will agree as she sat down to watch it with me last night but she did not particularly want to and she ended up enjoying it.
Storywise I think they did well and who hasn't thought about finding treasure before as I certainly have. I think it is good how they have made the characters want to get all of the publicity and riches for themselves as that is exactly what would happen in real life. The only annoying thing about the story is although we get to know the characters we do not particularly get to know any of their back stories so there is not much character development in there.
The actors in this movie are great and cannot be faulted because they are all well-established and play their roles with ease. The only thing I will say is did they have to make me feel so ugly by placing two of the most beautiful people in the planet together? To watch the actors though it is great but I have to say I did spend most of my time during the film saying why don't I look like Jessica Alba and then trying to come up with a gym plan to get her body. The actors do look like they had a great time filming and to be honest I think the location is stunning and they are all quite young so they must have had a great time.
Character-wise I think this film has done very well and there is a good distinction on who are the good guys and who are the bad. Although they are good characters I would not say they are particularly memorable and although they are strong in the film I cannot see them making into the blue 2. I liked Jared the most but because he is the lead character you are supposed to as he is portrayed as being the hero of the piece.
My favourite thing about this film though is how it is filmed and the sets they have. Me and my sister were watching this and every two minutes saying I want to go there. The sea is the brightest and clearest blue and the scenes where they are scuba diving are fantastic and make's me want to try it out. The fish look so much fun and there is one shot where Amanda is at the bottom of the ocean and a load of fishes swim right up to her, I kept thinking I would love to do that and it happen to me.
I do have one tiny complaint about the film though and that is that it does drag a bit. At the beginning you really get into it and think ok this is going to be good but then nearly an hour as passed and not much is happening. Mine and my sisters attention began to dwindle and we were even checking how long the film went on for. What I will say though is if you stick with it then the film does get good again but for a while it seems to be very samey.
In conclusion I am going to give this film four stars because although it is good and all of the characters are strong, the story does lack substance to begin with and I think that may put a lot of people off watching it. I enjoyed it though and I think if you can stand the fact that the screen is full of two of the most good looking people in the world with Alba and Walker and you like a bit of an adventure film then you probably will like it.
Thanks for reading.

...Amanda and Bryce taken matters into their own hands by negotiating with a dangerous drug lord. But once the drug lord and his men know where the drugs are, all four are in danger of losing their lives. Will they be able to stay long enough to uncover the hidden treasure? Or have they bitten off more than they can chew?
Jessica Alba is probably the draw that attracts most people to this film. She spends a lot of time in skimpy bikinis and does look ... ...than that. As Sam, she gives a very convincing performance as the sensible one of the group. She is well aware of the consequences of becoming involved with drugs and it is only after immense pressure that she gives in. Whereas this was hardly the performance of a life-time, it is a solid one and I think she more than proved she is capable when it comes to acting. She certainly knocked the spots off co-star Ashley Scott (Amanda), although, to be ...

...a deal over lunch!"
Into The Blue is one of those movies that exist purely on a concept that sex will sell to the teen crowd. Guys will see Jessica Alba in the trailer wearing a bikini and want to buy a ticket. Girls will see Paul Walker a bit buff and flashing his pearly whites and slap down their money on the counter. It doesn't matter if the movie has a good story, by the time you're in the theatre; the job of the studio is done.
Jared (Paul ... ...friend Bryce (Scott Caan) rolls into town with a new gal in tow. Amanda (Ashley Scott) is also hot but a little bit off the rails. The lot of them go diving and discover some treasure potentially worth millions of dollars. But they also find a plane with a huge stash of cocaine in the hull. The movie spends a lot of time swimming beneath the water before the drug dealers turn up and want to know where their plane and stash is. Cue much dumbness, ...

...I don't think so and Into The Blue is full of all four of those S's, as the trailer neatly highlights. For the women to gaze at there is Paul Walker (Fast and The Furious) & Scott Caan (Ocean's Eleven) and for the men there is Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four) and Ashley Scott (Birds of Prey TV series)

...in tone and the diversion into ropey thriller territory doesn't help things. Towards the end of the film Stockwell seems in a hurry to tie up all the loose ends, so we get a succession of hastily stapled together action sequences (grisly deaths, explosions and lots of swimming) and Nancy Drew revelations that are both too quick and too obvious to have any real effect. Stockwell can't even make sharks feel scary. Then there's an ending that decides ... ...nothing to get your teeth into as a member of the cast or audience; there aren't even any sharp one-liners and the relationships between characters are as poorly sketched as they come. The pacing is very odd for an action film because it starts off slowly but in the time normally reserved for character development, we only get a smattering of dialogue and a lot of marine photography, which is very pretty but does little other than act as free advertising ...

Advantages: A beautiful movie Disadvantages: Lack of special features
I don't tend to like the usual run of the mill big budget actioner. But Into The Blue, certainly registered on my Richter scale. When I recently purchased by Blue Ray DVD player, Into The blue came as a freebie, a taster to wet your appetite I guess. I certainly for one could not think of a more eye watering movie to play on this brand new format.
Jared and Sam are a pair of young lovers who share a love of diving; leading a normal everyday existence they get by, neither of them are big money makers. When Bryce & Amanda turn up on the scene however the group discover a sunken plane, stuffed full of drugs. While Jared swears the others away from the wreck, Bryce can only see dollar signs and heads off in search of the illicit cargo. Things go relatively to plan until Bryce and Amanda try to sell the drugs to a local gangster, its ...

Advantages: An awesome surf movie. Disadvantages: Some dodgy face replacement techniques!
see how tough it was, and how they all got worked and had some kind of injury whilst out in the water.
The shots in the water let you experience visually what it's like to be in a barrel and come out of the other side, and to see how the waves are created, really awesome to see.
It's a truly inspirational film, and you'll probably want to buy a surf board when you see it! I'd definitely recommend watching it, it's a real feel good movie that will have you laughing in parts and then completely on edge! But most of the time, you'll just be in awe of the huge waves and incredible shots in the water.

Here's a cool action film that goes down smooth as summer vacation, full of gorgeous turquoise-coloured underwater scenery, bronzed bodies, and a nice level of free diving adrenaline. Paul Walker and Jessica Alba are a pair of in-love Bahamas-dwelling naturalists; she wrangles sharks at a local water park, he shepherds tourist scuba divers around the local reefs. Their beach-bum tranquility gets a jolt when a fast-talking buddy (Scott Caan) and his drug-user girlfriend (Ashley Scott) come to visit. While out on a dive, the foursome uncover what could be a dagger from an 18th-century pirate ship but nearby there also happens to be a downed plane laden with cocaine. Moral quandaries ensue, bad guys get wind of the drugs, guns come out, and the plot thickens. It's based on THE DEEP, a 1977 film that tried to capitalise on the JAWS phenomenon of the time but disappointed audiences by forgetting the sharks. This version is a much more exciting film and features shark attacks and real sharks swimming among the actors, thereby righting a 32-year-old wrong. Director John Stockwell also did BLUE CRUSH (2001), so it's a given there's no skimping on the beautiful scenery, both above and below the water line. With the gorgeous bikini-clad Alba undulating through the water like a mermaid, this movie becomes, in its own unique way, a perfect 10. Ralph Lauren model Tyson Beckford is suitably intense as a shady club owner, and Josh Brolin is a sleazy boat captain.
