This wonderfully subtle comedy is the debut film of a great director and a signature work ... more
of the Czech New Wave. Ivan Passer's film concerns the dreams of two musician friends, one of whom, having left their small hometown to become successful, returns to visit the other who stayed behind at the local music school. Focusing on the humour of the ordinary and routine and expertly shot by Miroslav Ondricek, it shows true affection and understanding for all its characters to become that very rare thing in comedy - a work of great originality and universal acceptance.

DVD Description
Filmed in 1965 and released internationally in 1969, INTIMATE LIGHTING was an impressive first feature from Czech director Ivan Passer (CUTTER'S WAY). A young Prague cellist (Zdnek Bazusek) and his sophisticated girlfriend (Vera Kresadlova) visit some friends in a bucolic village. The cellist has also been engaged to solo with the town's rustic orchestra. In a gentle, anecdotal fashion, the film compares the streamlined urbanity of the visitors with the homely simplicity of the villagers. In Passer's eyes (and, as it turns out, the audience's) it is the more tranquil country life that wins out. INTIMATE LIGHTING won the Cannes Youth Prize and a special award from the American National Society of Film Critics.
...As I am a bit of a perfume junkie most of my family and friends bought me a bottle of perfume or a perfume gift set for Christmas. My lovely mum bought me three different perfumes and Intimately Beckham for her was one of them. I had seen Intimately Beckham for her advertised on the TV just before Christmas and quite liked the look of it, especially the packaging because it was nice and pink. So when I unwrapped the present mum got me for Christmas I was quite pleased with the perfume she had chosen for me.
Packaging
Intimately Beckham for her was a part of a gift set so it was packaged inside a lovely square box, with a lid. The box is a really light baby pink in colour and looks so pretty and feminine. The box doesn't have very many decorative details on it, so it looks very simplistic and plain. It has Intimately Beckham...

...This is a musical film directed by martin scorsese and who are the rolling stones? The band consists of rock and roll legends mick jagger, keith richards, ronnie wood and charlie watts. the movie coincides with bands own release of their shine a light music dvd. Therefore most if not all of the songs contained on the compact disc are in the film at some point.
the film was staged in the beacon theatre in new york in two thousand and six. the rolling stones are holding a concert for former president bill clinton along with his wife are the stars main guests. There is some swearing and drug related references occasionally during the film.
my feelings on the music related movie was that the rolling stones gave the impression throughout that based on their method of performing was all too easy. Have no doubt, that I am sure the band...

...?Red Lights? (or 'Feux Rouges' to give it it's French title) is the kind of movie that the French do best, and would never get made by any other country?s mainstream film industry. No one else does this sort of drama, in this kind of way. The look, the style and the content is so French!
French cinema is often based around relationships and how they start, continue or finish. For example just in the recent 6-8 months we?ve had Nathalie, Les Trops De Intimacie, Petits Coupures and Lucas Belvaux?s stunning trilogy ?One?, ?Two? and ?Three?. All of which are strongly based around the relationships of the main characters and Trilogy even going as far as using three different genres of film to do this (comedy, thriller and drama).
?Red Lights? is a drama based around the relationship of Antoine and Hélène, a husband and wife, who are...
