I have always been a great fan of InspectorMorse and I used to video tape and keep as many episodes as possible. I now have every episode on DVD and regularly sit down to watch one.
For those of you that don?t know InspectorMorseis, in my opinion, one of the very best detective series ever made. It is based on the books by the author Colin Dexter and starred the late John Thaw in the title role with Kevin Whately as his long suffering sidekick, Lewis. The actors both give outstanding and completely believable performances in every episode.
Each episode lasts about 100 minutes and revolves around the solving of a crime, almost always at least one murder. The viewer is invited to follow the reasoning and logic of Morse and Lewis as they follow the clues to find the truth, which is usually very well hidden!

Advantages: Great characters, original plot Disadvantages: Suspects' alibis confusing
the application of two academics for the position of Master of Lonsdale College, Oxford, for which there are three conditions - must be of sound mind, must not have taken holy orders and must have no criminal record. One of these academics is having an affair with Rachel James, who is later found dead, shot at close range through her kitchen window. Yet after more clues have been uncovered, it seems that her death may have been a mistake and that the victim should have been her next door neighbour, a journalist, who happens to have a ponytail of similar length to Rachel's. This certainly seems to be the case when the journalist is also shot dead at close range. He is discovered to have been blackmailing one of the academics. Alibis, however, are thick on the ground and it seems that none of the relevant suspects could have done the deed. Inspector ...
Advantages: Insightful documentary Disadvantages: Leaves you wanting more!
This is a great introduction to the work of this multi-talented songwriter, artist and poet. It opens with a conversation over an aborted move project which is a gentle introduction into the nature of Childish's character. The documentary shows him inking woodblock prints as the interviewer asks about his abused past. Childish's responses show the value of the psychotherapy he's received over the years and its easy to see why he's dropped the moniker "Wild Billy Childish" as he offers thoughtful, composed answers. There's plenty of music to pacify the fans of his band's various incarnations suhc as Thee Headcoats, Thee Milkshakes and most recently Musicians of the British Empire. Throughout his dress sense and epic moustache hark back to the Edwardian era and its easy to see why his work will stand the test of time, as opposed to someone ...
In 'Death Is Now My Neighbour' a physiotherapist is shot dead followed by another neighbour, with the same gun. In 'The Wench Is Dead' Morse re-opens an old murder case whilst recovering from an operation.
