Hi, I have rediscovered Ciao after about 3 years! But I'm back. I am a student at the moment studying Law, History and Archaeology. I am then going to take a gap year so that may give me lots of time to write reviews!

When this first came out, I saw the advert and was imediately persuaded to get it, despite already owning them on video- but it's DVD! The films maybe old but they still exctite and keep the suspense as nothing beats Indiana Jones for action and adventure!
The DVD trilogy comes with an extra disk full of extras which are really interesting to watch including making-of documentaries, trailors, documentaries on music, special effects etc. It's enough to keep you satisfied for a few hours.
If these documentaries bore you then there are the films as well! Each film is on a seperate disk and shows the films better than ever with fantastic picture and sound, complements of digital technology.
The first film, The Raiders of the Lost Ark is the film that started the trilogy spectacularly with the archaeologist Indiana Jones making his way through a jungle to a temple full of traps and suprises. When he finds the gold icon he is looking for and removes it, all hell breaks loose as arrows shoot out of the walls around him and the temple begins to collapse. He is double-crossed by a man with him who wanted the icon himself and escapes through a tunnel chased by a giant boulder (one of the more famous scenes). The film then follows Indy's quest to Egypt where he has gone in search of the lost Ark said to contain the 10 commandments. It is a race against time to get to the Ark before the Nazis who want to use the Ark's supernatural powers to conquer the world.
The second film is another classic and probably defined the steriotypical Indiana Jones as it is Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom. This film follows his travels to India where he comes across a village claiming that evil men stole their children and a sacred rock from the village. It is up to Indiana Jones and company involving a woman who is "not the outdoors type" and an orphan boy who Indy has befriended. This film still manages to capture the same excitment and has the famous mining cart chase through the temple! This film of the three has the most cheesy lines but for some reason the Indiana Jones films can get away with it!
The last film, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is probably my favourite involving not just one Jones but two, Henry Jones, Indy's father, played very well by Sean Connery. This film has laughs, created by the relationship between father and son and the trouble they get into together. A quote by Indy's father is, "You call this archaeology?" The film this time is a quest for the Holy Grail, following the clues, and the Jones' are once again up against the Nazis, determined to use the grail for the worse. The film not only excites but also educates and you feel you learn a lesson from it.
Oh and one more thing, each disks menu has in the background the Indiana Jones theme tune which is just so good! Who doesn't love the Indiana Jones theme tune???
I would definately recommend getting this DVD trilogy and you will not be disappointed with it if you love action and adventure. The films are probably some of the best action and adventure films ever!
