Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

Some sarcastic and critical people have called this film 'Indiana Jones and The Milking of the 4th Cash Cow.

The film as you might expect has a plethora of stars,
Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones.
Karen Allen - Marion Ravenwood.
Shia LaBeouf - Mutt Willliams.
John Hurt - Professor Oxley.
Jim Broadbent - Dean Charles Stanford.
Kate Blanchett - Irina Spalko.
Ray Winston Mac George McHale.

Notably not in the film is Indies dad, Sean Connery and Marcus (Denholm Mitchell Elliott) who died in 1992.

A very brief synopsis of the story begins with Indie and Mac taken against their will to 'Area 51', where
Clues lead them onwards ending up in the jungle. Along the way Indie will pick up a deranged John Hurt, an old flame and a unknown Son!
I won't fill in the innards of the story because it really would spoil it for you.
The soundtrack is nothing special apart of course from Indies theme tune.

A few notable points:
The Atomic explosion is spectacular and how Indie escapes is clever.
In the jungle a Russian soldier is swarmed by thousands of ants and ends up being dragged down their 'hole'. Not really suitable for younger children.
The stunts are truly spectacular as you might expect.

However,
The ending of the film is a shocker!
Seriously - a shocker!
My son and I turned and looked at each other in disbelief.
I won't give anything away but if you have read any of my previous reviews you will know the kind of book I like to read.
You simply don't mix 2 genres in this way!
I will say no more.

You will enjoy this film, but I'm not sure about the ending.

Greg.

Agree wholehearedly with your comments. I would have enjoyed this more if they'd really driven the story more around the paranoia of the era. And indeed, the ending is a travesty. The effects I can't fault really but I did expect more from Spielberg. What a shame, it could have been a great quadrilogy but I think I'll stick to the first three. Would have liked more in your review about what's on the DVD though.
