Independence Day
Review of Independence Day (Special Edition) by kitchy1989

Advantages: Good al round comedy
Disadvantages: The film seems to drag out could of done with a little more editting parts out.

An Oscar winning alien invasion film containing Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum. Released in 1996. I thought that it was a quite entertaining film with a fair bit of action and a good bit of comedy as well. The only bad point I have to say is that it the film does seem to run for a bit long and you feel the time pass. Basically the film is a comedy alien invasion movie and science fiction movie. It also has quite a few stars, not the biggest names but ... Read review

Advantages: Great Acting
Disadvantages: Need the Big Screen

...It is a good film, it has a solid story line and good acting. Sometimes, with regard to plot, the writers do get a little excited. But one is willing to overlook certain facts such as a firestorm would occur when the Spacecrafts enter the atmosphere, because otherwise there would be no story line at all. I, personally, love conspiracy things and "cover-ups" and the part where they go to area 51 really got my heart going. The cast, throughout provide solid performances and some of the characters were very credible indeed. The special effects are good too but to be honest you cannot beat the big screen when it comes to block-busters like this. But the DVD does not make a shoddy effort of this, by no stretch of the imagination. The story covers what essentially amounts to a space invasion by some awesomely technologically advanced aliens... Advantages: Superb film stars Will Smith
Disadvantages: None that i can think of

...The stars in the film are: Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Mary McDonnell, Judd Hirsch, Margeret Colin, Randy Quaid, Robert Loggia, James Rebhorn and Harvey Fierstein. Director Roland Emmerich. Certificate 12 Independence day is about a signal found coming from the moon and the US army have gone up to find what it is and have come across an alien ship and start firing at it but doesn't work. The character that Will Smith plays finds out about sector 52 and wants to know what it is and finds out its a alien ship like the one that the big alien mother ship has got. The alien ship sends some of its little ships to fire at earth and Will Smith gets in a ship and brings one of the alien ships down and drags the alien to the nearest army base. Will Smith meets this intelligent man who is good with computers and lets the army know... Read review

Here, aliens, in numerous gargantuan spaceships, arrive without warning and hover over the world's most important cities, creating global panic. The nasty visitors use death rays to blow New York, Washington D.C, and Los Angeles to smithereens. A handful of plucky Americans, including the Clinton-esque President, a gung-ho fighter pilot and a computer geek named David, attempt to devise a strategy against the invaders. On July 4th, their risky plan is put into effect, as dozens of fighter pilots (including the President) wage an assault on the spaceships. However, their success (and the fate of the world) depends on David, who is attempting to disarm the aliens's mothership.
