This review is on a Disney and Pixar animation called the Incredibles, this film is one for the whole family with comedy and action, Brad Bird (writer, actor, director) and Mark Andrews (story board design) have come together to edit and delete scenes to get the final draft that we see today!
Characters
Robert (Bob) Parr/Mr Incredible
Voiced by actor Craig.T.Nelson, Bob is a strong and muscular character on the outside but week on the inside, "I'm not strong enough to lose you again. As seen in the film Bob has un-natural strength by breaking the window of his car when shutting the door, Bob always has the urge to save the world even when there is huge chance that he will get caught and this soon becomes a problem!!
Helen Parr/Elastigirl
Voiced by actress Holly Hunter, Helen is Bob's wife as you can tell by her last name, she has a short temper and shouts at the family at every available moment, her name is Elastigirl for one good reason, she is elastic she stretches further than people can run an shapes people couldn't think of this helps her in her hero life and her family life!!
Violet Parr
Voiced by actress Sarah Vowell, Violet is the oldest sibling out of three, since violet was a baby she has been able to disappear and reappear on command but yes she has another power she can produce force fields she uses these against her brother, this power is also when ever she pleases but is much harder to produce, she needs a lot of confidence which she lacks at school and home!!
Voiced by actor Spencer Fox, Dash is the second oldest sibling he is not your average ten year old he can run hundreds of miles an hour, he can run so fast that he runs on water, even when running on water he only skims the top with his toes. This power saves his mum and sister from drowning also he saves a city
at the end of the film, Dash wants to run in sports but you can guess why his parents are not letting him and you guessed it Dash acts like any other ten year old would with super powers, he gets in to mischief!!
Jack-Jack Parr
Voiced by Maeve Andrews, Jack-Jack seems like a normal baby but he is a part of the Parr family so of course he has powers he's like the rest of the family he changes into lots of the elements fire, lead and he has red vision like a devil but that's not it he can float and go through walls like a ghost all of this gives the babysitter hell, and in the end Jack-Jack nearly burns the whole house down, there is not much of Jack-Jack in the film until the end when he is the biggest character!!
Buddy/Incrediboy/Syndrome
Voiced by Jason lee, Buddy is Mr Incredible's biggest fan but everything goes wrong for Buddy (Incrediboy) as Mr Incredible lets him know that he works alone this breaks Incrediboy's heart and transforms him from Mr Incredible's number one fan to his arch enemy Incrediboy then changes his name from Incrediboy to Syndrome But of course Syndrome has no real powers he uses his inventions as powers!!
Edna Mode (E)
Edna is voiced by director Brad Bird, she has the smallest built but the biggest personality it is as big as the world she jokes about she is funny but like everyone she has a angry and sensitive side to her personality her job is to repair old superhero suits but if she doesn't like the suit she says "darling" and makes a new suit for them. Edna has a high pitch squeak for a voice but that fits well into her person!!
Loucius Best/Frozone
Samuel.L.Jackson voices Frozone, Frozone is not part of the Parr Family but he is still a superhero he is a friend of Bobs (Mr Incredible) he is just like Bob can't help but save the world, though he is more reluctant. His special power is he can produce ice on command the only time he can't produce ice is when he is dehydrated or when there is no water in the air but that's right he can make ice using the water in the air!!
I think the powers of some of the characters suit their personality. For example:
· Bob is the head of the house hold and need to "support" the family (in this case literally) · Helen is the mum rushing about and being "flexible" this is what all mums would like to be like?? · Violet is the typical teenager that hides in the background. Face it there is no better protection from school than force fields and invisibility! · Dash is also typical for his age wants to be come a athletic champion and wants to compete to "show off". · Jack Jack is a baby and has no obvious powers and is "full of possibility" like any child!
Plot
The film starts off with Mr Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone they are all talking to the cameras and saying what they would like to do in the future, of course they all have different ideas Mr Incredible wants to settle down and raise a family, Elastigirl want to keep fighting against evil because she's at the top of her game and Frozone just talks about women the whole time, but they all agreed on one thing though all superheroes have a secret identity.
So it's a important day for Mr Incredible it's his wedding but of course there is something that needs saving, it's a cat so noticing he has some extra time he goes to save the animal as he does so there is a car chase whizzing round the corner Mr Incredible rushes to stop them but does he? And who pops out of nowhere but his number one fan Buddy (Incrediboy) after stating quite clearly that Mr Incredible works alone and that Incrediboy will never be his sidekick, Buddy walks away with his heart crushed Mr Incredible thinks it is a little boys strop he goes off to marry his wife to be Helen (Elastigirl).
Mr Incredible's life with Elastigirl didn't go to plan at all after saving a suicidal jumpers life the man sued him for the injuries he caused, then many more people sued filling many lawsuits against not just Mr Incredible but every hero that lived, so all that the government could do was to introduce the superhero relocation program that meant that all superheroes every where have to give up their powers and lead normal lives with their secret identities. 15years… Mr Incredible has a new identity as Bob Parr with his newly wedded wife Helen Parr they had three children all with super powers but do they know how to use them? Someone knows that Bob is bored with his job and they send a secret transmission to his house saying that there is a job that they need his expertise for, deciding how much he has missed being a superhero he takes the job so he digs out his old super suit and leaves telling Helen that he has a conference with work.
Bob meets who contacted him they informed him of his mission which was to go to a remote island and destroy a robot, the problem was the robot is that it learns how to defeat its opponent every minute it fights Bob beats this robot but who is the person who contacted him?
The mission is talked about to Helen and so she finds Bob sneaking off to another mission and decides to follow him, this is where the whole family kicks in using their powers. We later find out who contacted him and he is on a mission to destroy the city the Heroes reunite with each other to save the city.
The heroes defeat the robot destroying the city and the person running it but of course they have to go back into hiding.
Will Dash get to race in sports? Will Violet become more confident? Will Helen and Bob's marriage work out? Will all the supers become superheroes again?
My personal opinion
I think that this film is fantastic with action and comedy I like the way that they have used cartoons not real life people because lets face it who can stretch as far as Elastigirl or run as fast as Dash. All the voices fit well with their characters my favourite has got to be Dash I mean who wouldn't like to run that fast. Director Brad Bird has made such a fantastic film with the help of all the designers and drawers to help him.
I never really wanted to see this film until all my friends came back saying how cool it was, so I had to go and see it and on the big screen it was amazing with thrilling noises that blew me away, as soon as I heard Frozone talking I knew that it was Samuel.L.Jackson, but I have never heard of the other actors and actresses, but I know them now and when I see their names again I know where I have seen them before.
My Favourite character was Dash I like the way Spencer Fox fitted with the character, if he had been the voice of say Mr Incredible he wouldn't have fitted well because of the pitch of the voice, Spencer Fox's voice would have been to high for Bob's voice, my favourite bit of the film with Dash in was his laugh when he ran over the water.
My favourite part of the whole film is where they are saving the city, but the boy who said "that was so totally wicked" closely followed it.
Who every came up with images of the film deserve a pat on the back because I know I sound sad but I saw all the patterns on the walls, floors, lights, grass, pavement, buildings and the clothes material all together I think it is a film worth seeing and I would recommend it to any body! A must see!

Advantages: Highly entertaining, a movie for all, irrespective of age, sex, creed or colour Disadvantages: Its so good, it makes you want to see it again!
