Advantages: Impressive SFX, Huge Battles, Very Good Storyline Disadvantages: None
...I've got to say that I enjoy this film it excellent especially with the epic battle scenes in this film.
The film director (Wolfgang Petersen) has done great in making this film. It a must see to understand what I mean by epic battles.
The films story is mainly based around a great warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) in the middle of a great war between the Greeks and the Trojans. But as being a Greek himself and wanting his name to be heard for thousand years to come. He fights for the Greeks against Trojans the last major threat to the growing Greek Empire. As the war unfolds Achilles becomes more personnel involve in the war against Troy.
But I'm not going to write too much about the films as it will ruin it for people who have not seen it.
SO WHAT U WAITING FOR GOES BUY THIS DVD AND ENJOY AN AWESOME, EXHILRATING AND ASTONISHING EPIC...

...smokes, collars are turned up all over the show and the only language spoken is BBC English. Running in at 90 minutes total, TASM is an hugely enjoyable piece of hokum that will appeal to fans of Agatha Christie or Father Brown, in fact any of those between-the-wars period dramas.
That this filmed is based around Arsenal should appeal to any of their fans out there - although the downside is that it might put off some potential viewers too. Channel Four show this from time to time in its midweek matinees, but how about getting this DVD as a pressie for that Arsenal fan you know - no doubt he or she would be delighted with it , and it's currently avaliable from tesco.com for £16.99 or Amazon for a score.
Extras? No, not unless you count the 50,000 people in the crowd that is. 1939 UK, 90 minutes B&W, but digitally...

Advantages: Brad Pitt, fight scenes Disadvantages: Eric Bana
...plays a Greek king fighting for Agamemnon but I have great difficulty in shaking off his image as the Yorkshire-bred "Sharpe" and cannot buy into anything he appears in.
He works hard to disguise his voice but, coming from Yorkshire myself, I can still recognise his broad accent.
The lead female role, I also feel was mis-casted - I'd never heard of Diane Kruger and she didn't strike me as the outstanding beauty that she is constantly described as in the film.
SUMMARY
An epic war film with magnificent scenery based on a story which most of us are familiar with and could have been much more believable had the lead parts been played by better actors/actresses. If it wasn't for Brad Pitt and Achilles, I wouldn't have watched this film again - as it happens, this DVD now sits in the drawer reserved for those films which I like to watch over...
