In Search Of The Trojan War
The tales of Troy and its heroes, Achilles and Hector, Paris and the famed beauty Helen ... more
have enthralled generation upon generation. But did these legendary characters really exist? Was there really a Trojan Horse or a siege of Troy? In this acclaimed series Michael Wood, vividly evoking the period, searches for the true history behind the myths and examines some of the most exciting discoveries in archaeology.Homer's Iliad serves as Michael Wood's guide to the past as he sifts through the archaeological, historical and literary evidence. He immerses himself in the excavation site of what is believed to be the city of Troy and examines the dramatic re-discovery of the so-called Jewels of Helen. He tells the story of the colourful characters - like Heinrich Schliemann, the obsessed Father of Archaeology or Sir Arthur Evans, physically and mentally exhausted by his digs - who have helped uncover the story. And, he follows the exciting developments that continue to yield new evidence about the historical city.

...Gears of war 2 is the long awaited sequel to the massive game which helped give the xbox 360 some valuable points in the console war. Years later the sequel does the same where everything has been improved
The story is very good by game standards as a professional writer has come on board just for its plot. It carries on from gears of war 1 but can be fully understood by an newbie as well. The gameplay has been polished in all areas and also features more enemies and variety than previous instalments
The graphics and sound are top notch with great score kicking in the minute you try and take on a massive enemy. The level design is varied and detailed and one can clearly see bit of wall and ceiling come off after a firefight leaving the steel railings
The single player has a good mix and never seems to dull and offers about 10-12 hours...

Advantages: Interesting to see colour footage Disadvantages: None, really
...This DVD is part of the History Channel World War II in Colour. It is the story (shown in colour) of how the people of the USA and Britain coped on the homefront, whilst the service personnel of both countries were away fighting against the Axis countries in what must have seemed like the four corners of the globe.
The Atlantic, the Pacific, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the far East, Australasia, and so forth.
The first chapter of the DVD is entitled "making do."
Because the programme was created for the American audience, it begins not at the start of the homefront in Britain, but with the homefront in America, which was basically created only when Pearl Harbour was attacked by the Japanese. Suddenly, America new what it was like to face a relentless enemy who seemed implacable and incapable...

Advantages: Fantastic music Disadvantages: Eventually, it stops...
...I I think I found the lost chord. Many years ago, I got a copy of InSearch of the Lost Chord.
Did it change my life, for ever? Mmmm. Tough question. Because I think that the answer is, yes, it probably did.
The Moody Blues was yet another of those fantastically innovative and inventive groups that came out of Birmingham. In fact, I would go out on a limb and say that, from the point of innovative, interesting music the hierarchy would be: Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. Can I prove this? Birmingham brought us The Moody blues, The Move, ELO, The Applejacks, The Fortunes, Mike Sheridan and The Nightriders, Roy Wood's Wizard, The Spencer Davis Group, Black Sabbath, Traffic, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Band Of Joy and The Spencer Davis Group. And THAT's only those from the 1960s!
Whereas Manchester had Freddie...
