Advantages: A great girly comedy!!!! Funny, great actors! Disadvantages: None!
This is yet another film which I wanted to watch when it was on at the pictures, but never got round to it (plus my hubby refused to come!!)but it was on Sky Box Office last week and so I thought I'd give it a go, it was cheaper than renting the DVD from Blockbuster, and cheaper than going to the cinema and I don't like buying DVDs unless I have seen the film and know I like it, OR its cheap...haha!
So I put the film on and instantly liked it.
The film stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway as Liv and Emma, who have been best friends since they were young children. Ever since seeing a wedding ceremony together at the Plaza it had always been their ambition in life to marry the man of their dreams there, but they're just waiting for that proposal!!
In their adult lives, Liv (Hudson, How to lose a man in 10 days) and Emma ...

Advantages: nice length and good acting Disadvantages: might not be everyones taste
BrideWars is a film which was released on the 9th of January.
Anne Hathaway plays Emma, and Kate Hudson plays a character called Liv. The film I thought was very different to other films which are released these days. The story centres around the two main female characters Emma and Liv who have been best friends since they were only little children. Ever since the age around 5, they have dreamed of getting married in June, at the Plaza hotel. By co-incadence when both girls are in their twenties, they get engaged within days of each other and decide to go and book their wedding with a special wedding planner who can arrange weddings at the Plaza. The two brides to be are told that there are three dates left in June when they can get married, two on the same day and one on a different day. They book different days, however a few days ...

Advantages: It may make your mad realise you are not such a bridezilla! Disadvantages: Unrealistic and forgettable
***Why did I watch this film***
As Ibride to be, my fiance would tell you I have changed from a mild mannered, laid back girl to into a bit of 'bridezilla'. So he bought me this movie as a bit of a joke when in fact I wanted to buy it anyway!
***Cast***
Kate Hudson (You, me and Dupree, How to lose a guy in 10 days)
Anne Hathaway (The Princess Brides, The Devil Wears Prada)
***The plot***
Any bride or bride to be will understand the stress of organising a wedding but imagine organising your wedding at the same time as your best friend, wouldn't this be fantastic?
Hudson and Hathaway have dreamed of the perfect wedding venue, date, dress and all of the finer details since they became childhood friends.
Coincidentally both girls are about to get their dream wedding however there wedding planner mistakenly double books there wedding ...

DVD Description
In post-World War II Germany, American Lieutenant Catherine Gates (Ann Sheridan) and French army officer Henri Rochard (Cary Grant) fall in love and marry. However, on the day they speak their "I dos," Gates's ship sets sail for the States. Rochard succeeds in getting aboard the boat as a "war bride," but, unhappily, he cannot bunk with his new wife due to military regulations. For the life of these two honeymooners, they can't succeed in consummating their marriage, until, one day, the Army sees that strict rules can actually be broken--especially in the name of love. A funny Forces farce, with the classic scene of Cary Grant in drag!
