Advantages: Great to dip into, and great to pull you out of a bad mood Disadvantages: Don't watch if you need to be quiet, it'll have you laughing out loud!
I bought this DVD on a whim. I watch Mock the Week and love it, and have had a strange crush on Dara O'Briain for a long time. I had never seen Dara's stand-up before and didn't know what to expect.
I laughed out loud for most of the lenght of the DVD. Although I don't remember most of the jokes (meaning I can watch the DVD again), Ido remember general stories, and still giggle when Ithink of them.
I have recommended this to a few friends, some of whom loved it, one of whom hated it but admits he doesn't like Mock the Week.
This is a slightly slap-stick, ver silly form of humour. If you're not a fan of Mock the Week, QI and the like, you probably won't like this DVD. ...
. The action sequences are long and complex & are amazing to watch. Im glad I saw this film in the cinema, Ithink seeing it on a big screen made it even more impressive.
I was absolutely blown away by this movie and I really hope the follow up will be as good (although Ithink that may be hard to do).
As soon as this film cam out on DVDI bought it as Ithink its one of those films that everyone should have in there collection.
Film of the year for me by far ...
Advantages: really really good Disadvantages: 156 minutes long
I watched this dvd, not really knowing anything about the comic series. Ido not think that it is nessessary to be a fan of the comic books to understand/enjoy it.
Ido normally like sci fi and general nerdfests, so it probably wasn't a great surprise that I loved this film.
Basically its about superheros saving America in a fictional dimention during the cold war. The characters are all typical comic book style superheros, with slightly cringe worthy outfits, but outstanding unknown actors really make their mark here.
The filming style is really interesting and the special effects look really cool. The story is long and complex and the film lasts around 2 1/2 hrs, but its well worth it for an amazing cinematic experience.
Not really for the faint hearted and with the cert 18 its pretty gory and violent! Ithink that I would ...
