Having exhausted every other way I could think possible to escape actually having to tidy (yep, EVERY way) I glanced at the pile. On the top was a film I've been trying to avoid just as much as the cleaning. After a few short moments (that felt like a lifetime of deciding) I finally convinced myself that I would just have to do it. The movie I mean. Well, I'll be damned if I am ... ...The movie in question was I Am Legend. This is one that has been on the books for a LONG time. The film company has owned the rights to the books since the seventies. That's older than me that is! They have also tried to get this film out there before but, for various reason, the production fell through.

I have been wanting to see this film since I saw the trailers for it at the cinema but with 3 young boys I am not able to get there and watch it so I had to wait for the DVD to come out. I do like Will Smith as an actor so was looking forward to watching this. THE FILM

I did thoroughly enjoy this film from the start right through to the end. I have read several reviews about the film which all say how bad the ending was so I was not expecting great things. I did find the ending was not as bad as some people had made out but I do personally feel that it was a bit rushed. I Am Legend opens with a news report: It's 2009, and - without as much fanfare as you'd expect - Emma Thomson calmly announces they've created a cure for cancer. Every human trial has been successful; a genetic re-engineering of the measles virus has eliminated mankind's biggest health fear.
Fast forward 3 years, and it has eliminated mankind.
Almost. Robert Neville (Will Smith) is the sole survivor in a desolate, ground-zero New York. A virologist ... ...first half hour or so, I was very relieved to have a dog in this movie - Sam the Alsatian, Neville's sole companion - as it provides the sole emotional tie to the story, for me. And it's the moment Sam is placed in danger that Will Smith's character suddenly shows real emotion and the whole thing becomes a bit more interesting.

My husband and I bought this DVD at Sainsbury's last week for £9.79 as I have really wanted to see it ever since it came out in the cinema as I had heard good things about it, e.g. it is scary and intelligent and makes you jump.
Well after watching it I can't decided whether I liked it or not and I'm still not sure about it. The same for my husband and a few people I have talked to about it, they all kind of say, hum, not sure, couldn't ... ...virologist called Robert Neville. Now, I never like to give away the story or endings in my DVD reviews so I will give you a basic overview of the movie. However, you may want to look away now as I am going to reveal a bit of the story, it's actually about Vampires!! I am Legend was the 2007; sci- fi horror adapted from the 1954 Francis Lawrence, and a remake of the classic The Omega Man. The film starred Will Smith, in what was to be his first horror film. Opening in late 2007, the film grossed well over $500 million worldwide.
Having heard mixed reactions to the film I figured I had to watch it for myself to see what all the fuss was about, having not see the Omega Man, I am Legend was a totally new film for ... ...film.
