A few weeks ago I got a chance to watch first season of an adult-orientated TV comedy drama Hung. The title hooked me! On the other hand I am not very fussy when I watch series and not a film, so this time also expected to have a good time in front of TV.
Suitable for 18 years and over!
Jane Adams as Tanya Skagle: Ray's ex lover now friend comes up with business idea and becomes his pimp.
Anne Heche as Jessica Haxon: Remarried Ray's ex-wife.Charlie Saxton as Damon Drecker: Ray and Jessica's son. A goth, prefers being with his father.
Sianoa Smit-McPhee as Darby Drecker: Ray and Jessica's daughter, and Damon's twin.Eddie Jemison as Ronnie Haxon: Jessica's new husband.
Rebecca Creskoff as Lenore Bernard: A life coach who is introduced to Ray by Tanya to get new clients.Gregg Henry as Mike Hunt: Ray's good friend and assistant coach. Always terrified he can be fired as the school is cutting costs.
I was very intrigued by the title of these TV series so was really looking forward to watching the Hung. All series begin with a view of a man who is walking and undressing until he reaches a lake and jumps into water... I thought if the beginning is like this what will be going on after that?.. But actually was quite disappointed by Hung as expected it to be funnier, more exciting and fun. Yes there were scenes of nudity, sex, drinking which distract you a little bit. That’s what these series should be about according to the title. But instead you have follow a man trying to do something with his life not just for himself but also for his children who live with their mother.
Well I was feeling sorry for Ray Drecker. As it hard to lose everything and to realize you have no special abilities. Thoughl appeared he had one special gift so chose to live double life...I think the idea of Hung is quite good but series were cheap and disappointing. None of the characters had much of charizma, you get lost in the idea of series. I would expect it to be a normal drama about a man who lost everything or a sexy comedy about a man able to satisfy women. Both these ideas didn’t work for me.
