WHAT IS IT: La Haine is a French film - shot in black and white and released in 1995 - directed and written by Mathieu Kassovitz. It is in French with English subtitles and is around 90 minutes long. The film centres around 3 young men living on an impoverished housing estate in France. Vinz (Vincent Cassel), a French Jew, is full of rage at the injustices he is subjected to and the constant state of tension between the police and local youths in the aftermath of riots. These often seem to be prizes for grittiness to me, who can make the obscurest, least enticing film idea wins the prize. I suppose this is the case with La Haine. So what I'm apparantly saying is despite winning these awards this is still a good film.
La Haine follows three ...

Hum tum- directed by Kunal Kohli, starring Saif Ali khan and Rani Mukherjee is essentially a love story spanning over a decade or so between a cartoonist-flamboyant karan and a more sensible Rhea.
Both of them meet in an airplane while travelling to new york, when they spend some hours together in Amsterdam during their transit. After karan forcibly kisses Rhea infront of lots of people in the streets of Amsterdam, they are shown to go their own paths after they land in New york.Fate ends up bringing them together in funny situations throughout the years, once in new york, and again in India(where karan is actually helping his mom out with decorating a marriage ceremony which turns out to be Rhea's!).It doesn't end there, the second half takes us years later when they meet again.
The story unfolds at a decent pace and the script is very well ...
