ProSome laughable moments!

ConsCult classic now!

There are some films that are a total guilty pleasure when it comes to watching and Hudson Hawk is one of them, the film itself was released back in 1991 and the first time I watched this was at the cinema. The fact is that its one of those films that you enjoy for the totally wrong reasons and I...

“More Turkey Than Hawk”

ProI didn't pay to see it

ConsBruce Willis and everything else.

Is this the worst film ever made? Certainly some critics would say yes and the fact that ‘Hudson Hawk’ was nominated for four and won three Razzle awards (the spoof version of the Oscars meant to highlight cinema lows rather than high) including ‘worst picture’ and ‘worst director’ would seem to...

ProThe most fun you can have without a mechanical aid

ConsShakespere it's not

How do I sum up the Hudson Hawk? I was going to find a few films to compare it with, but it would appear that hollywood has never produced a movie even vaguely similiar to this in over a hundred years of film-making and will likely never produce one again. Bruce Willis takes on the role of a kind...

After doing his time for a burglary charge - the Hudson Hawk (Bruce Willis) is released back into freedom. So why is his parole officer trying to convince him to do a job as he escorts the Hawk out of the prison? Eddie Hawkins "The Hudson Hawk" was one of the best cat burglars around before he...

ProBruce Willis

ConsNot to everyones liking.

Why did this movie flop? I know its a bit far fetched but thats what movies are all about, escapeisim. I'll admit that I'm a Bruce Willis fan anyway and have been since his days in Moonlighting with Cybil Sheperd but even so, Cat Burglers that use music to time heists? A novel idea. Bruce willis...

ProThe end (not the ending, just the end)

ConsStory, characters, Sandra Bernhert

Bruce Willis scored it big with Die Hard and a comeback with The Sixth Sense - So what forced him to need a comeback? The answer is films like this. We have here a prime example of a vanity picture. The star knows what HE (or she) likes to do and naturally assumes that everyone else in the world...

ProExtremely funny, Bruce Willis!

ConsNone whatsoever!

When this film was released, the consensus of all the critics was basically what a turkey! it dissappeared from the cinemas pretty quickly and that was that. Being a massive Bruce Willis fan from his moonlighting days i just had to get to see it. A couple of years after its release it was finally...

ProA highly under rated film, bruce willis singing

ConsDistinct lack of Extras

As far as I can remember this film has never been over publicized, and it was only by chance that I caught a showing of it on TV a couple of years ago. I wish I had taped it. I searched for a while to try and find the VHS, but it was no where to be seen. Thank god someone has final put this film...

“Hudson Hawk”

published 28/08/2000

This was a damn funny movie, if you like bad movies. At first I thought it was a mistake for first rate actors like Willis and McDowell to do such a bad movie, but after I saw it, I loved it. It made me laugh until my side hurt, and was worthy of it's own cult status. It was silly, rude, had...

Prouniquely structured plot with great casting

Conshumour may not appeal to all sometimes unrealistic

I found this film brilliant the casting was great and the storyline very different. The humour is very much my type with some basic slapstick with some downright ridiculous. This is a roel that Bruce doen't often play but people really doubt his comedy side and you have to see this film to see...

Product Information : Hudson Hawk (DVD)

Manufacturer's product description

Hudson Hawk (Bruce Willis) has done his time. The infamous cat burglar is released from prison and plans to pursue an honest life. Some of his cronies, however, feel differently and coerce him back into a life of crime. With his best friend, Tommy Five-Tune (Danny Aiello), in tow, Hawk finds himself immersed in a series of complex burglaries, culminating with the theft of a priceless Leonardo da Vinci treasure from the Vatican. Every time Hawk thinks he has the situation under control, a new villain is thrown into the mix. A plethora of quirky characters keeps Hawk hopping, including a misguided secret-agent nun (Andie MacDowell), a greedy, megatrendy couple determined to dominate the world (Sandra Bernhard and Richard E. Grant), a ruthless butler (Donald Burton), and a sinister CIA agent (James Coburn) who heads a team of agents nicknamed after candy bars. Director Michael Lehmann (HEATHERS, AIRHEADS) uses slapstick comedy, special effects, and sight gags to keep the action moving at a raucous pace.
