Production Year: 2001 - Drama - Director: Phil Alden Robinson, Richard Loncraine, Mikael Salomon, David Nutter, Tom Hanks, David Leland, David Frankel, Tony To - Original Language: English - Classification: 15 years and over
Advantages: Smart, fast, witty, wacky, juvenile, spot-on satirical humour. Disadvantages: Just a few weak spots, insufficient to ruin anything.
...writer in 'Misery', Jodie Foster in 'Silence of the Lambs' (complete with a lisp I hadn't noticed before), a butch Sigourney Weaver in 'Alien', a Southern-sounding Susan Sarandon in 'Thelma and Louise', even a comically serious Liam Neeson in 'The Phantom Menace', and an elegant Stella Gonet as Beatrice in 'The House of Eliott'. For her part, Ms French aptly channels 'Misery''s menacing Kathy Bates, puts on a more flighty attitude to mimic 'The House of Eliott''s Evie, and adopts Anthony Hopkins's evil mien for 'Silence of the Lambs' - all funny for their absurd hamminess.

In the 2nd episode, Tracet has to break the news to her son Garfy who is away at private school. There are some funny parts to this episode but it is still a bit depressing.
In the 3rd episode, Sharon loses her job and the girls have to face more trouble
In the fourth episode, Sharon gets herself pregnant by a guy she has only just started dating. All ends in tears.
In the 5th, Tracey rejects a crooked way to sell Darryls business.
In the last episode of the series. Sharon wants a divorce...
