House Of Dracula (DVD)

Advantages: Good cast, sets, competent direction, nice score
Disadvantages: Uneven screenplay, too little of Dracula

...Hot on the heels of the box office returns from 1968s 'Dracula Has Risen from the Grave' Hammer rushed it's next vampire project into production. In what was common practice at the house of horror, promotional materials were on the prospective distributors desks before a word of the script had been typed. With Christopher Lee ruling himself out of the role after his dissatisfaction with 'Risen' and a combination of boredom and a fear of typecasting with the role, Tony Hinds set about fashioning a screenplay without the titular vampire. The plan was to groom a new actor in the role of Dracula's disciple, and to hopefully keep the series ticking over well into the 1970s. Advantages: It Ended

...I've seen some pretty dire movies recently but this one has to be the worst one I've seen in a very long time. I do quite like Dracula movies and vampire movies in general, so when I spotted Dracula 3000 I thought it might be worth watching. It started Casper Van Dein who I quite liked in Starship Troopers, but haven't seen in a movie since. The rest of the cast wasn't overly inspiring but giving it the benefit of the doubt I sat down to watch it. As a salvage ship flies through space it comes across a ship that went missing some 100 years earlier. Everyone on board had heard the stories about the ship but no one had expected to ever find it. The crew, led by Captain Abraham Van Helsing (Casper Van Dein), board the derelict ship in a hope of taking it back to earth and claiming the salvage money. What they find on the other ship is... Disadvantages: May Send Out Wrong Message To Young Girls!

...finding out that she is too different to them. However , soon she joins 'The Zetas'. How will being an ex-playboy girl be an advantage to how she is seen by the group ? Watch The House Bunny to find out! I wasn't really sure what to expect when I first put this DVD on. I was wondering whether it would be another 'try-hard' and 'just-like-the-rest' kind of movie. I had seen Anna Faris in another film before , Just Friends , which I had thoroughly enjoyed and so was hoping that this film would live up to the success of that film. This film is a good chick flick! Definately one to watch with the girls on a night in with hot chocolate and Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
