I know after reading the title you maybe thinking, yeah right but it's true. The plot tells the story of a ordinary man, Paul who is the manager of a posh hotel in Rwanda for rich Rwandian's and western tourists tries everything he can think to save his family and eventually as many Tutsis people from the Hutu militia after the western relief force only evacuates the tourists caught up in the civil war . He uses all the favours he has built up before the conflict began and desperately tries get to everyone to safety behind the Tutsis rebel lines to a UN aid camp.
The story already makes people think about how the west deals with the events in countrys that dont have nature resources that are highly vauled by the nations that have the power to stop such cruel acts against innocent civilians. Even now it can make you think would the US of gone into Iraq if they wasnt oil there?
It's not the easiest film to watch and some of the sense's can make disgusted of your governments actions in Rwanda but the strength of the actors and the brilliant direction helps show how in the face of overwheming odds what things are possible. I reccommend that everyone watch's this firm at least once in there life, everyone should see this film as I think it not only portrays the personal struggle in the Rwanadan conflict but leaves you thinking about current events over the globe and makes you try to understand why the UN, Nato or even a single nation doesnt step in to protect those who cant protect them selves.
WATCH THIS FILM!!!

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" in the top right of the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
