Danny Butterman (Nick Frost): A simple local village policeman, who lives for cornettos and the pub. Is happy wih his life until he meets Angel and feels he is missing out.

Simon Skinner (Timothy Dalton): A sinister supermarket owner who is the prime suspect when mysterious happenings start occuring.

Plot:
Nicholas Angel is a top class police officer (not police man - police officer.) He knows every rule and regulation inside out and came top of every class he has taken. An expert in hand to hand combat, driving and bike chases, he has a 400% arrest record within London. After being stabbed in the hand by a Santa Clause (Peter Jackson) he returns to find he is being reassigned to the sleepy West Country village of Sandford - statistically the safest place in England to live. The force want rid of him as he is too good.
As he packs his life, and peace lily up to move to the country, he quickly becomes aquanted with drunk Danny, who he arrests for drink driving.
The next morning he clocks in at the station and goes about his new and exciting challenges such as finding missing swans and stopping local biscuit thiefs, amongst a barrage of childlike questions from his partner Danny.
However, things take a sinister turn when several members of the community die in "accidents." Angel and Butterman must convince the rest of the force these are murders whilst tracking down the guilty party(ies)

• Outtakes. The out takes as you would expect from the cast are very funny. One in particular with Nick Frost trying to spray on deoderant and deliver a line whilst having the giggles is very funny. The guys clearly do not take work too seriously and had a great time making it.
• Trivia Reel - A commentary over the top of the movie with trivia facts over the movie. This is for the ultimate film trivia geeks, so I thoroughly enjoyed this.
• Trailers and TV Spots

• Video Blogs - A series of video blogs shot for the internet throughout the filming. It mainly features Pegg, Frost and Wright but has some great insights into the making of the film. Each lasts about 2 minutes and it is great to see them bright eyed at the start then considerably worse for wear by the end.
• Photo gallery - a pretty bog standard feature but nice to see some behind the scenes shots.
• Making of featurette - This is an interesting progression of how Hot Fuzz was born of Edgar Wrights childhood dream and the success of Shaun of the Dead. It is interesting to see how the cast of young police officers and older villagers interact with each other and how the in-jokes made it onto the big screen.
• 22 deleted scenes - some of these are very funny and I'm guessing were cut out because of the already long final edit. Some were cut out for a reason though.

• Angel's girlfriend, who appears for about 2 minutes under a boiler suit and mask is double oscar winner Cate Blanchett.
• Rafe Spall, who plays DC Andy Cartwright is the son on Timothy Spall
• The whole film was shot in only 11 weeks
• Somerfield was used as it was were Edgar Wright was a shelf stacker when younger.
• The female "Best Village" judges are played by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's mums
• There are references to Dirty Harry, The Addams Family, Straw Dogs, Taxi Driver, The Omen, Mad Max, The Shining, He-man, Miami Vice, Crocodile Dundee, Lethal Weapon, Point Break, Bad Boys 2, Goodfellas and Jurassic Park to name a few.
