I cannot believe how long it has been since I last watched this. It must have been at least 1-2 months now, however I can keep the whole story-line in my head and nothing bad will come of it that it has been so long since I have watched this!

I bought this from HMV. It was in the 3 for £20 section, but now it'll probably be in the 4 for £20 section as they don't have 3 for £20 no more!

The directors of this film is: Jimmy Hayward and These two people are good at directing, you can clearly see that, but what gets me is what's the need of a director at all in an animated film, there's just no need for them unless they are there to tell the animators where to put things like the scenery and what may or may not be important! Jimmy Hayward has only recently become a director as he has done animation through-out his life from Finding Nemo to Toy Story. Steve Martino on the other hand has just entered the whole directing experience and therefore he didn't have as much experience as Jimmy Hayward!

The cast is as follows:
Jim Carrey ... Horton (voice)
Steve Carell ... The Mayor of Whoville (voice)
Carol Burnett ... Kangaroo (voice)
Will Arnett ... Vlad (voice)
Seth Rogen ... Morton (voice)
Dan Fogler ... Councilman / Yummo Wickersham (voice)
Isla Fisher ... Dr. Mary Lou Larue (voice)
Jonah Hill ... Tommy (voice)
Amy Poehler ... Sally O'Malley (voice)
Jaime Pressly ... Mrs. Quilligan (voice)
Charles Osgood ... Narrator (voice)
Josh Flitter ... Rudy (voice)
Niecy Nash ... Miss Yelp (voice)
Jesse McCartney ... JoJo (voice)
Shelby Adamowsky ... Hedy / Hooly / Additional Voices (voice)

Jim Carrey is really well known, as you can tell above, he plays Horton, who is one cute, hilarious and a very, very stupid elephant. Jim Carrey is always perfect for plying roles of stupid ness, and he always ends up being almost the same person in every single film; however he can't act the same for an elephant as he did with the Grinch. And compared to his other many films (such as Liar, Liar; Ace Adventure; The Yes Man etc.) Horton and the Grinch are the only 2 that stand out and cannot be said that they are the same actor! Maybe it's just because he's an elephant in here.

Steve Carell is also a well-known actor, he plays the mayor of Whoville, which is also annoying because we don't actually know he's name, he's only known as the mayor, which annoyed me. Steve Carell is starting to grow on me and he acted well in this film, well okay maybe he did well with the voices. Surely you don't want me to bore you in telling you the films you may know him from because everybody should know who he is, but anyway he has quite a few films on the way and also quite a few in post-production such as the sequel to Get Smart!

I have decided not to bore you much more, but there are a few more famous people in the mist of the cast, and surely you'll be able to point them out!

This film shows a friendship like no other, and tells little children that the truth sometimes don't get you as far as you want to go in life, but if telling the truth is part of your beliefs then don't change for someone else! Horton is a big funny elephant who can be known as a bit dumb at times. Horton stumbles across a flower at one point and then finds out that a whole world called "Whoville" lives on this single flower. Horton and the Mayor of Whoville can both hear each other. Well the elephant does have massive ears. But when Horton tells everyone else, no one believes him.

So, poor friendless Horton treks on a dangerous adventure alone. This adventure is to save the whole of Whoville and prevent them from drowning, or getting swept away, and other dangerous obstacles. Horton wants to keep Whoville safe, and therefore he decides he wants to put it in the alcove of a mountain, which is very far away, not only that but the elephant has to cross many challenging thins such as the ladder, which everyone has seen from the trailers, and one really annoying part, which is where the flower ends up with a whole field of the exact same flowers (there must be about 99,.000,000 flowers in that field, and poor Horton and very kind Horton searches day and night to find that flower and eventually when he is close to giving up, he finds is!

There was lots of comedy that flowed through this film brilliantly, but the thing was that the talking wasn't much of a comedy that way it was mainly based on the actions, there was a few quotes I picked out on which I found just as funny as the actions, which were:

Horton: [looking down the canyon] it’s just a straight plummet to certain death

&

Horton: I have to think light. I'm light as a feather. I am light as a feather.
[A feather lands on the bridge and the plank gives way]
Horton: Heavy feather.

I like how Jim Carrey happened to have been in another Dr. Seuss' film, considering Jim Carrey was also in the Grinch.

I think this is where my review ends, and I thank you all for reading and I hope I have helped you make up your mind about this film!
