Overblown and gothic fun
Advantages: Brilliant performance by Gary Oldman Disadvantages: Terrible performance by Keanu Reeves
Bram Stoker would have been amazed if he knew that the stories his mother told him while he was sick in bed, would grow into one of the biggest myths and moneyspinners of the 20th century. Coppola's film is a gothic, sumptuous and rather overblown version of the novel. As for 'faithful' - I don't remember a bit where Lucy runs through the garden wearing a red curtain only to be shagged senseless by a bison. Or the bit at the beginning where Vlad ... ...- faithful to the book my arse!
Never mind. Gary Oldman is fabulous as Dracula - sexy, anguished, and with an accent you can't place but somehow it sounds ancient, steeped in grandeur and blood. He's quite stunning in the role and you do feel for him. (Not like the book at all really where the Count doesn't actually appear that much and when he does, he's a red-eyed stinky breathed monster).
Dracula comes back to England because he sees a picture ...

~ An Immortal Battle for Supremacy ~
Advantages: Brilliant scenery, Great action, good characters Disadvantages: Could have more SP/FX
...Supremacy ~ Underworld I first saw the film when I rented it from the local video shop and thought it was brilliant. The eerie pictures and captivating cover instantly drew me toward it. I had seen adverts and trailers when it arrived at the cinema and waited until it was released as everyone knows the price of cinema tickets are quite steep so I don?t tend to go much unless I really want to see something. The plot sounded good and I love vampire ... ...Blood Diamond and the other Underworld films where his part grows. Viktor- Bill Nighly
Viktor is the Lord of the vampires who is raised by Selene to help win this war. After being woken early and not being impressed with her behaviour he seeks to rule the vampires into victory. He is a strong minded leader who is hard-heartened but seems to have a soft spot for Selene. Bill Nighly is a well known actor and I didn?t know he was in it until I saw ...

Supernatural Season 1: A remarkable TV show
Advantages: Humour, suspense, good acting, attractive characters. Disadvantages: Long plot, special effects aren't great.
...Season 1 of Supernatural is the story of the Winchester boys, Dean and Sam, who are trying to find their father after he disappears. Each episode features some kind of task involving the supernatural (of course!) and the boys must use their father's journal that he left for them to identify each creature and how to destroy it. As well as their "adventures", the main focus of this show is the relationship between Dean and Sam, and finding the monster ... ...the show and have watched every episode that is available in the UK so far. Lucky for American viewers, you are half a season ahead of us. But I recommend buying the seasons on Amazon as they are very cheap and good quality. It's a terrific show, funny and full of suspense. It is definitely worth giving a try. ...

A Design For Death [Film Only]
Advantages: Memorable deaths, good performances and special effects Disadvantages: Some dodgy dialogue, a few inconsistencies
...explodes. Their trip to the final destination delayed but not terminated - as the teenagers find out, there is no cheating death. The opening scene at the airport is effective, and ensures Final Destination won't be shown as flight entertainment. The deaths are well executed (if you'll excuse the pun). If it's not the thought behind them - which will get the guessing games going - then it's the timing that can catch you out. However, there is inconsistency ... ...stuff thrown around already. Final Destination is strong in the special effects department. Computer trickery can be evident, but it's not as if these effects stand out like a sore thumb. It's not entirely the works of computers however, and when something is evidently fake, there is humour with horror - something which the film manages to mix successfully on more than this one occasion. Despite being set in New York, there are a couple of clues, ...
