Say Hello to the Night

Advantages: Fantastic Film with a great cast
Disadvantages: Slightly dated for some people

The Lost Boys Say Hello to the Night Sleep all day Party all night It's fun to be a vampire It may be an unusual take to write a review on a film which was created in 1987, though this, I believe, is one of those classic films that live on no matter how many years have gone past. I first watched it as a teenager with one of my friends and we fell in love with it straight away and years later I finally brought it on DVD and have already watched it ...
...as good special effects for the time, they are not so much a spot on the horizon for modern day special effects, though I feel this has to be kept in mind. OUTSIDE THE LOST BOYS The Lost Boys in title was originally in reference to the Peter Pan stories by J.M.Barrie and was directed by Joel Schumacher. The cast list is a really great cast for the time and includes big names such as Kiefer Sutherland and Dianne Wiest. A large part of the movie was ...

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer

Advantages: Good effects and action
Disadvantages: 2 silly plot holes ruin the film once you notice them

Wesley Snipes plays Blade - a half human half vampire all action vampire hunter with an extreme attitude for his job (who the vampires refer to as the "Day Walker" due to his human ability to survive in daylight). No kicking asses or taking names (unlike Roddy Piper in "They Live"), just lots of killing vampires to rid the Earth of the foul undead. Eventually he becomes entangled with a plot to allow other vampires to also walk in the day just like ...
...action scenes are excellent. The 2 plot holes are stupid. The whole "we need 12 pure-blood vampires to do a revive but we killed one and it still worked" plot hole and the "Whistler shot himself but he still appears in movie 2" plot hole. I'm always trying to decide if the tattoos Wesley has here, he also has in Demolition Man. The visuals are wicked and the fighting is well done. I didn't spot the silly plot holes until now (3rd time I've seen it) ...

Death Can Never Be Cheated

Advantages: some good scenes
Disadvantages: not much horror like it says, not better than the third film

...it was because after watching Final Destination 3 I thought that the first and the second one must have been interesting. I am currently watching the second film of the sequel but this first film is quite boring. Nor did I have the same excitement or the tension as the third movie and I was a bit disappointed because I was looking forward for the first sequel but nonetheless, I didn't hate it. There were a few moments when some tension was building ...

I'll stick to the original, thanks.

Advantages: good concept
Disadvantages: poor, poor film spoiled by its sheer complexity.

...going on in it.So, when cube 2 : hypercube came out, I for one was quite exited. For those of you who do not know the original, a brief rundown of the plot would be that a group of eight people are put into a huge contraption, with the bizzarre aim of trying to get out alive. They were put in without consent, or prior knowledge. But, they were put in for a reason, as each one held a particular skill, or a piece of knowledge, that may help them escape. ...
...identical cube shaped rooms, and slowly go mad. Some rooms contain traps, some contain horrific scenes, and some are safe. Now that you know the plot for cube, you also know the plot for hypercube. It would seem that the film has been given a bigger budget, which they threw at the film to give it better effects, and slightly worse acting. Again, we see eight 'contestants' put in a huge contraption, with the aim of getting out alive at the expense ...

More like My Big Mistake

Advantages: Film to waste time, for the faint hearted
Disadvantages: Storyline, ending, cliqued story

...was a lot less than My Little Eye! They really needed a lot more twists and more action involved because there were plenty of times where you could have fell asleep or switched over. This is definitely not one to see, if you must prepare to be disappointed and left wishing that you hadn't wasted 95 minutes of your life on this film. ...
