A truly brilliant horror film

Advantages: Fast, scary, fantastic soundtrack
Disadvantages: You'll have to watch it again and again

One of the best horror films i've seen. The action doesn't stop and the characters do not do the usual horror thing of making the worst possible decision that no one would ever make. As a follow up to house of a 1000 corpses, Devils Rejects is by far the better film. It stays realistic and i think there is nothing more scary than complete and utter pyschos just killing people for no good reason, rather than some stupid looking monster hunting people ...

House of 1000 corpses - love it

Advantages: good for horror fans
Disadvantages: if you dont like gore dont watch

I was bought this dvd for my birthday off my friend, as she knows im a great horror fan, and what a good choice of dvd. If your into gore, blood, canabilism, torture, hacking of bodies, and experimenting on bodies then this is the dvd for you. The story line kind of reminded me of the texas chain saw masachre, but that was a true story, this in some parts is very corny, but also interesting, as the story contains bits of what has happened in true life, like dr jeckyl, experimenting with the brain. Blood red and violent as hell

Advantages: Gory, troubling, difficult, acomplished
Disadvantages: If you don't like horror this ain't the film for you...

...is a light leap from the original. The first film was filled with MTV style jump cuts, a punishing and at times banal sound track and repeated shocks. Advantages: Reminiscent of 70s B movies
Disadvantages: Just didn't do anything for me

Rob Zombie's Halloween

Advantages: terrifying, amazing effects
Disadvantages: unneccesary nudity
