...little sleuthing reveals a secret society which thrives on cannibalism, incest, and the ability to do some rather otherworldly things during sex. An interesting and overlooked horror entry, SOCIETY features horrifying and memorable makeup effects." If there was ever a horror film that truly deserved the tag of classic this would be it - an exceptional and intelligent plot attached to good performances and excellent direction. The extras on this ...
...that just contain production notes and trailers for the distributers other releases. Its good to see it clearly though after so many years watching grainy overused videos of it. The plot above pretty much sums up this film but it still needs to be seen for it to be appreciated - its the kind of film that wouldnt get made now - back in the 80's when horror was mainly a video medium this kind of film was overlooked by the censors. I did read articles ...

Case Study of a Zombie

Advantages: Different, focused story, great effects
Disadvantages: Actors and plot are secondary to the action

Return of the Living Dead part 3 (1993) After the truly awful mess of Return of the Living Dead Part 2 (1987), it’s surprising another sequel was made. I approached it with trepidation, but was quite pleased with the end result. Julie (Melinda Clarke) is the girlfriend of Curt Reynolds (J Trevor Edmond), whose father, Col. John Reynolds (Kent McCord), works at a military research base trying to create new biological weapons using the ‘living dead’ ...
...ID to sneak in to the lab and see what’s going on. They are shocked by what they witness; the re-animation of a corpse. Julie is fascinated while Curt is sickened. One motorbike accident later and Curt is breaking into the lab again with Julie’s recently deceased body and uses the chemical to bring her back. From there on things get messy. The story is written by John Penney, who also produces, but has few other interesting credentials; although ...

Shes pregnant but by whom

Advantages: great watching
Disadvantages: none

Craig Barton (Arnold Vosloo) a successful surgeon is making passionate love to his wife Sherry (Jillian McWhirther), one evening when a big blinding electric blue light engulfs them. As they become aware again, they realise that two hours of their lives have gone missing. Sherry and Craig have been trying for years for a baby, with no success. Now after their missing two hours, she finds she is pregnant. Much to the delight of both of them: although ...
...reveals some of the events of that evening. Craig has now got extreme suspicions about the baby within his wife, while she thinks its all a bad dream. But who will be right? The film is excellent viewing, and very compelling. It is an interesting and different film. With the thought of aliens, and then the viewing of them in parts - proves to be very watchable. Extra features include: Chapter search, Trailer, and Cast and crew interviews. Certificate ...

Open wide for your final visit

Advantages: Textbook acting from Corbin
Disadvantages: Slow to start with

...all hate to go to the Dentist and with good reason it’s expensive and the equipment used is far from fluffy. But if all Dentists were like Dr Alan Feinstone we would have cause for concern. Dr Alan Feinstone is a remarkable outstanding rich Dentist from Beverley Hills with a thriving office Dr Feinstone and his whole life revolves around perfection and a clean wife and hope some would say Dr Feinstone is a perfectionist some would say he was mad ...
...what I saw I think the right word is mental. Dr Feinstone in his mind begin to see imperfections and slowly his sanity begins to decay and if you haven’t brushed your teeth and been a good patient then this is your final appointment with the good doctor. Corbin Bersen plays the friendly but silently cycotic Dentist and it’s a part he plays very well I think in some part the acting can be seen as amateur especially where the police are involved ...
