The photography, sets and scenery make the film look wonderful , and although Tudor Gates´otherwise excellent script introduces some stink-air don´t-trust-anyone-over-30s crap (middle-aged men burn Playboy models in the stake, not lonely old women), Twins of evil is another jewel in Hammer´s 1970s output. ...

Advantages: Very quick on its toes
Disadvantages: Very Bad Dubbing

I believe this was the third Lucio Fulci film I watched, and have revisited it frequently over the years. Filmed in New Orleans (without permission, but they had fast cars) and Rome The Beyond centers around a young womans Hotel Inheritence, where many years earlier a Warlock (alledgedly) was crucified, beaten with hefty metal chains and melted with acid. Unaware of its gresome past Liza (Catriona MacColl) spends time and money renovating the house ...
...staff. During the run up to the opening a carpenter falls from a roof after seeing some scary eyes, and Joe The Plumber gets a thumb stuck in his head by a nasty demon in the basement. I want my 45 mins back...

Advantages: Like goth , like this!
Disadvantages: like good acting , Hate this!!!

Let me first say that I do not like this film. Now let us get on , this particular offering is, in concept ,very likeable... Gothic, lady, vampire, asassin with big guns who is not averse to showing flesh (not in a porno way) who spends her undead life killing people for personal gain whilst dresed in a latex/rubber outfit. Killer cats

Advantages: Entertaining, easy to watch
Disadvantages: Hard to take the plot too seriously

Black Cat is not without sex and nudity, but it is a very small part of the film and the 'horror' elements are tame compared to, for example, some of the Korean horror films I have seen. Based on a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, the film is about killer cats. As such, it almost goes without saying that the plot is a bit daft. Perhaps because I love cats so much myself, I couldn't bring myself to believe what I was seeing ...
...is quite a lot of black humour in the film and this made it very easy to watch. Plus the Englishness of the setting is stressed throughout - I don't know where it was filmed, but it really is picture-perfect, particularly the house in which the Professor lives.
