Saw Trilogy Review
Advantages: Great price, 3 great movies, Gore fans will love it! Disadvantages: None- I loved it.
...these are must see movies. Saw trilogy remarkably reworks the horror genre by adding a plot that is genuinely unique and keeps you guessing until the very end. There is no holding back when it comes to scene sheer violence and terror on screen as wrong doers are tortured.
The strange part is that the killer in the movies does not think he is a killer, he believes that he is helping the victims. The people he tortures have all done something wrong ... ...to play a terrifying game to realise there errors and live better lives. The trap/death scenes are unique in each movie and will live you hiding behind your sofa. It's a must watch to see these scenes alone.
A great addition for any gore fan. "Do you want to play a game?" ...

The Omen Pentology (Box Set)
Advantages: Fantasically shot, great value horror package Disadvantages: Maybe a bit too focused and gory for the casual viewer
The Omen Pentology is definately a collection of top quailty horror films with convincing acting and great inovative camera techniques. That said the pentology is probably best left to the horror fans. People curious about the genre might find it a bit too focused and perhaps should start with more approachable films such as 28 days later. The films all have a different feel and angle but together form a definate collection and I would advise that ...

The Cell - Movie Only
Advantages: Original, daring, visually stunning... Disadvantages: Bare-bones plot, definite reek of misgony...
...fails to enchant me.
The Cell, Singh's debut feature-film following a widely-lauded career in music videos and advertising, is astonishing on several levels. Granted, none of those levels are anywhere near the level upon which the Plot is situated, but so intoxicating is most everything else that one scarcely has the wits to notice.
That plot - a flimsily-strung mesh of cliché and genre conventions - concerns the efforts of psychotherapist Catherine ... ...the mind of captured serial killer Carl Stargher (Vincent D'Onofrio) by way of an elaborate machine of some kind that transports one into the dreamscapes of another. To this end, she is assisted some by Stargher's captor, FBI agent Peter Novak (Vince Vaughn), himself harbouring a fair few demons also.
It is whilst wandering those dreamscapes that The Cell astounds. The work of Scandinavian artist Odd Nerdstrum is plundered throughout, and the resultant ...

Dawn of the dead..zombies just got scarier!
Advantages: Scary, Fast paced, well directed, good acting Disadvantages: none
...that the classic zombie film dawn of the dead had been remade i became a bit wary. Im a zombie fanatic, seen all the films and read the book, hell i have my own zombie plan! The new film certainly helped to further fuel my morbid fascination... The film starts off with eerie clips from the news which then leads you into the life of the main character Sarah Polly a nurse. We follow her for the first part of the film as the zombie plague erupts across ... ...jumping and cringing, you want to shout "NO, DONT OPEN THAT DOOR!" and other heckles to help people out. Sarah meets up with a group of survivors and they end up holding up in a mall. I wont give much else away about the main story/plot. Once the film gets going you are glued to the screen, as well as fast paced scary moments with terrifying zombies there is also a lot of in depth character development and interaction, almost all of the characters ...

A decent sequel
Advantages: Innovative and good script Disadvantages: none
When Scream was released in 1996, I was very impressed by the satirical and self-referential style of the film. However I was sceptical when the sequel, Scream 2 was released in 1997, as I thought it was straining the idea to make additional films.
Scream 2 follows on two years after the events in Scream and sees Sidney (Neve Campbell) and Randy (Jamie Kennedy) trying to lead a normal life after their traumatic experiences in Woodsboro. While attending ... ...seeing stars who are big names now, playing small roles in this film, such as Heather Graham and Sarah Michelle Gellar. It is a nice idea having a film within a film and things don’t get complicated, which is good. Fans of Scream will be pleasantly pleased with this film. ...
