Devilish film

Advantages: Scary and jumpy, with a great story
Disadvantages: It may be too scary for some people

The Exorcist is a horror film that is a favourite for many people. It was directed by William Friedkin and released in 1973. The film follows the possession and the attempted exorcism of a young girl, Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair). Regan’s poor health is originally blamed on her mother’s, Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn), recent divorce, but it soon becomes clear that demonic forces are at work. Her mother ends up seeking the assistance of two priests, ...
...in her bid to rid the demon from her daughter. The priests realise that they will have to use all their strength and convictions to defeat the demon and save Regan. This film is loosely based on an actual exorcism of a young boy in the early twentieth century. I thought that this was a really creepy and scary film, with some excellent make-up and special effects. It is worth noting that some scenes are very horrific and may upset some people of ...

Anyone want a mug of Kokumo?

Advantages: Possesion is 9 tenths of the law
Disadvantages: That's not really true :-(

...the best thing in an Exorcist film. This film basically has her in a rehab unit, recovering from the traumas of being possessed in the first film. A priest called Father Lamont (played brilliantly by Richard Burton) comes to interview her and try and find out what really happened to Father Merrin all those years ago. They use a contraption (a synchronizer??) to bring their minds together and travel through the mental cosmos to find out what really ...
...ex-wife Belinda was also in Exorcist II and Deliverance. Rating: 18 in the UK; R in the US Running Time: 118 minutes, although it does seem a good bit longer than that. Things I've learned from this film: 1. Peanuts can be used to imitate locusts if you're short of budget. 2. If you can't remember something, synchronize your brain with an alcoholic playing a priest, that'll remind you of things. 3. "If Pazuzu comes for you I will spit a leopard!" ...

A film made in Hell

Advantages: its only a film
Disadvantages: is it?

The Exorcist (Directors Cut). I'm pretty sure that by now, most people would have heard about the Exorcist film, either Film, Dvd, Video or just from memories of parents. The later of this summary is what I'm basing my review on. I was one of many who stood outside the cinema in the pouring rain, of the first showing of this movie, at our local cinema in the early 70's. I thought it was quite funny at the time to listen to; Priests and Nuns outside ...
...it more. Yes at the time it was truly horrifying, and left a real chill down the spine, every time I heard a bird in our loft after that I was convinced it was the devil looking for another possession. But time moved on, and 100's of Horror films later, it all seemed a distant memory, and then I came across this DVD, the Directors Cut, it had me intreaged, what would be different and would I notice any difference. My son who is nearly 17 asked ...

exorcist trilogy

Advantages: First film was great
Disadvantages: Third film not as good as expected

...girl whom was possessed by the devil. The film which was previously banned thanks to the church made a big impact on the public when it was originally released. The girl becomes possessed in the first film, the church becomes involved in order to rid her of the demon. She survives and then goes on to make a second film years later after the first film caused a nervous breakdown for the young actress. The second film takes place four years later. ...
...cult of the locusts. This was a great film but not as heart stopping as the first. The third film is about the young priest from the first film whom was posessed by a serial killer who was executed at the same time as the original exorcism was taking place. A great set of film's. 100% must see. They are great original movies, was one of the scariest films around. The intensity of these films make them great. The director obviousy wanted to scare ...
