Fate isn't always good...
Review of Final Destination DVD by ellaj15

Advantages: original, keeps you hooked
Disadvantages: bit far fetched at times

This is a new twist on the horror genre - its original and it works very well! There are plenty of shocks and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. The story is very good and is definitely one that works with all the sequels. It makes you jump and has plenty of blood and gore - a perfect horror film! This is definitely one for horror fans! PLOT - A group of school kids are off to a trip to France when Alex (Devon Sawa) has a dream that ...
...Soon the events of his dream start to come true so he begs to get off the plane, a fight ensures and him,a teacher and 5 other kids get off the plane. Overblown and gothic fun
Review of Bram Stoker's Dracula DVD by Janeyboo

Advantages: Brilliant performance by Gary Oldman
Disadvantages: Terrible performance by Keanu Reeves

Bram Stoker would have been amazed if he knew that the stories his mother told him while he was sick in bed, would grow into one of the biggest myths and moneyspinners of the 20th century. Coppola's film is a gothic, sumptuous and rather overblown version of the novel. As for 'faithful' - I don't remember a bit where Lucy runs through the garden wearing a red curtain only to be shagged senseless by a bison. Or the bit at the beginning where Vlad ...
...- faithful to the book my arse! Never mind. Gary Oldman is fabulous as Dracula - sexy, anguished, and with an accent you can't place but somehow it sounds ancient, steeped in grandeur and blood. He's quite stunning in the role and you do feel for him. (Not like the book at all really where the Count doesn't actually appear that much and when he does, he's a red-eyed stinky breathed monster). Dracula comes back to England because he sees a picture ... Read review

Dead Teen Flick
Review of Final Destination 3 DVD by twistedalice

Advantages: Lots of humour as well as interesting characters
Disadvantages: More alternative deaths and background for characters would be nice

This has got to be one of my favourite films for a long time. The cast are excellent, they each play their respective characters to the full. Yes they are stereotyped, but this is what makes it even better as they all have their own little twists. If you have the two disk version of this DVD it makes for an even better experience as you are able to choose some of the characters fates and access some bonus stuff that throws one of the characters into ... Left or Right?
Review of Wrong Turn DVD by JamieT123

Advantages: Tension, Suspense, Ghore
Disadvantages: Predictable

A group of friends get stranded in the back woods of Virginia. They find that they are not alone... They become hunted by cannibalistic mountain men and try to escape. This film is very similar to The Hills Have Eyes. Overall I think its a good film and will entertain those who enjoy this particular genre of film. Full of ghore, blood and guts, this film is definitely not for the faint-hearted, although The Hills have Eyes is worse on that part. ...
...are not bad. This film has some scary and some very tense moments such as a chase in the woods and I found it to be rather enjoyable, having watched it several times. Some of the special features of the dvd include extended and deleted scenes, the making of and some featurettes. Good standard predictable horror film. 8/10 ... Read review

A Vampire Classic that is worth your money!
Review of The Lost Boys DVD by RedTape

Advantages: It is a classic: great acting, great plot, great effects, great everything.
Disadvantages: none I can think of

...vampire movie to watch. However, the movie Lost Boys is not like many vampire movies, and has been counted many times as a classic in this genre of horror. The movie is about two brothers who move to a new town, in which is haunted by bikers, which turn out to be a coven of vampires and mysterious deaths. The older brother is drawn to this vampire coven by a beautiful girl he sees, while the younger one meets two other teenage boys who claim to be ...
