How angry can you get in 110 minutes? Advantages: Not as bad as the original Disadvantages: Still bad ...to see my mate one last time before heading off on a 2 week holiday to South Africa. Somehow, each time we go there I get more nervous about the crime rate. Anyway, we met up to watch a DVD and as usual I was to choose, because she has seen practically everything anyway and I'm actually quite indecisive - so she gets to influence me into choosing something she enjoyed! Revenge is a dish served cold Advantages: Good premise Disadvantages: poor revenge scenes We love revenge films, mostly watching the Japanese ones such as Oldboy, Ichi the Killer etc etc. Here, the Americans have had a go at the genre, and we both sat down very excited to give it a go. Imagine this: your daughter is viciously raped, then her tormentors come to stay in your house (not knowing who you are). After a while, you discover who they are, and plan your revenge. This is the premise of this film, and it's a very good one which could ... ...is very promising, and the excessive amount of time spent on the rape gives you a strong appetite for the revenge element which is sure to come. Sadly, the revenge side is very short, and never really gets going. There are real problems with the pacing, and the first two thirds should really have only been half the film (if that makes sense!) Advisory wise, there are some very brutal scenes in the film. Scary Movie, tons of laugh, suspense and hotties. Zoltan, Hound of Dracula - totally barking vampire flick. Advantages: You'll spend more time laughing rather than shaking behind the sofa Disadvantages: Weak story. Quite annoying at times. Zoltan, Hound of Dracula (also known as Dracula's Dog) is a vampire film with a twist. The vampires in this film are dogs. Set in modern times, (the film was made in 1978), the story starts in the old country, Romania. All the vampires are dead, having been slain and entombed. Such a tomb is uncovered by the Russian military, who are carrying out excavations in the area. Not knowing what they have stumbled upon at first, a single soldier is posted ... ...the guard, Zoltan is awakened. Zoltan, a large, muscular hound (looks like a Doberman), goes on to release another vampire, a vampire slave/servant of Dracula played by Reggie Nalder (better known for playing the lead vampire in the 1970's version of Salem's Lot).
