Overblown and gothic fun
Advantages: Brilliant performance by Gary Oldman
Disadvantages: Terrible performance by Keanu Reeves
Bram Stoker would have been amazed if he knew that the stories his mother told him while he was sick in bed, would grow into one of the biggest myths and moneyspinners of the 20th century. Coppola's film is a gothic, sumptuous and rather overblown version of the novel. As for 'faithful' - I don't remember a bit where Lucy runs through the garden wearing a red curtain only to be shagged senseless by a bison. Or the bit at the beginning where Vlad ...

Never mind. Gary Oldman is fabulous as Dracula - sexy, anguished, and with an accent you can't place but somehow it sounds ancient, steeped in grandeur and blood. He's quite stunning in the role and you do feel for him. (Not like the book at all really where the Count doesn't actually appear that much and when he does, he's a red-eyed stinky breathed monster).
Dracula comes back to England because he sees a picture ...

It's like a friday night down my local
Advantages: great all round entertaining movie
Disadvantages: none really... (apart from one or two 'iffy' scenes)
...Romero's night of the living dead… and with a rather good little twist of a finale it is sure to be a great movie to watch… If you do want to get a copy of this then you can get one from amazon.co.uk for as less than £6.00. ...

Run, The Zombies
Advantages: Influential and a great watch.
Disadvantages: Dated there are better zombie movies out there these days.
I doubt that when George A. Romero first created this b-movie on a budget of just $114,000, he realised it would become the inspiring and classic film it is today. Now seen as a semi-cult classic it is the king of the horror b-movies.
Although it wasn't the first ever zombie movie, previous films such as Victor Halperin's White Zombie, were based on living people been controlled by a voodoo witch and were mainly set in the Carribean. Romero brought ...
...they are in todays modern cinema. With this film an entire new horror sub genre was created and Romero revealed how powerful exploitation was by setting the film in very ordinary circumstances.
When the film was first released however, it was dismissed because of the graphic scenes and the gore. However, since then it has seen many imitators including The Evil Dead and 28 Days Later and has been parodied by films such as Shaun Of The Dead as well ...

Advantages: I want this to happen to me. IT'S FREE
Disadvantages: The woman's acting is really crap the rest were fine though
...THIS DVD I FOUND OUT THE COPYRIGHT FOR IT IS OUT-OF-DATE OR SOMETHNG AND YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT LEGALLY FOR FREE.
So this is one of the original Zombie flicks. It's made in the days when zombies were zombies slow walking and murderous and a bit stupid. Not like todays versions were zombies are running all over the show making us Livies look really unfit. It's all that fruit and fibre people are eating it's affecting their afterlife and all. ...attacked by a zombie and the brother gets killed. She runs away and into this abandoned house were she meets this otehr guy whose also running from zombies. He boards up the house whilst she gets on like a wee whinging cow avoiding doing any work and then they find out some people are holding out in the basement.

ghost who never went to acting school.
Advantages: sometimes scarey
Disadvantages: predictable
When i watched thirteen ghosts my first thought was predictable and i could have written something similar during my dinner hour in work.
Okay there were some original scenes to it but it starts off with a familiar story line of a family inheriting the house! woo thats original, and the house is home to ,wait for it, thirteen ghosts who want to be freed from their abode,[ the creepy cellar like place ]. Well where else would you expect to find them?

...and their intentions are not honourable. In fact they do kill some family members, but not all of them. The remaining kin discover the way to lock the door previously allowing the ghosts to escape and in return live happily ever after somewhere else!! I hope my review hasnt put you off wasting your money on purchasing a copy of this action packed [not] film. My apologies if it has???????????? ...
