Advantages: Scary and unique imagery and concept

"The Unborn" A review of the spooky horror
Advantages: Great story, decent special effects and very unique
Disadvantages: Some 'off' acting in parts, can become a little boring
The Unborn is about an evil spirit from another world seeking revenge. Is it possible to be haunted by someone who has never been born? - It tries to slowly take possesion of her body.

The storyline is extroidanary, nothing I've come across before. Like many people, I've seen movies which have people being haunted by ghosts and such, but this film is a spirit from a different world and involves twins from an unborn baby... how strange! Night of the Living Dead: A true classic finally on blu-ray
Advantages: A fantastic way to watch a true classic
Disadvantages: Only one extra, would have been nice to see more
Night of the Living Dead is the daddy of all zombie movies. Yes there may have been films that featured zombies before this but none came close to creating the same world that George A. Romero managed to. A film that manages to truly define the genre and has been imitated ever since. Now for many years you've probably seen countless releases of NOTLD on every format. And apart from the Elite LD and DVD release, many of them have been sub-par ...
...footage (for example the DVD release by Contender). So thankfully Optimum has decided that this classic film is worthy of a proper blu-ray edition. For a low budget, black and white film from the Sixties, this transfer is fantastic. It's very similar to the old Elite DVD but with more detail and better contrast. Sick yet deep
Advantages: Great visuals, haunting story line and totally original
Disadvantages: Very very very gory
This film (based on the manga anime series) takes you to tokyo rife with Yakuza and killings. The boss Anjo disappears with 3 million Yen and the second in commmand Kakihara vows to find him.
Kakihara is a machoist, enjoying every moment of each of his torture scenes where he plays god with peoples pain. His skewers penetrating cheeks, jaws, feet and many other parts of anatomy! He, after vowing to find Boss Anjo, is kicked out of the yakuza but ...
...story becomes mixed in with Ichi, a brainwashed killer, controlled by a retuired cop who has many problems, sexual need for death and killing.
The story although appears to be a pure blood bath in fact is very clever, deep and truly disturbing. The characters have a definitve influence on the sway of the plot and both dialogue and acting is fantastic.

Run, The Zombies
Advantages: Influential and a great watch.
Disadvantages: Dated there are better zombie movies out there these days.
I doubt that when George A. Romero first created this b-movie on a budget of just $114,000, he realised it would become the inspiring and classic film it is today. Now seen as a semi-cult classic it is the king of the horror b-movies.
Although it wasn't the first ever zombie movie, previous films such as Victor Halperin's White Zombie, were based on living people been controlled by a voodoo witch and were mainly set in the Carribean. Romero brought ...
...they are in todays modern cinema. With this film an entire new horror sub genre was created and Romero revealed how powerful exploitation was by setting the film in very ordinary circumstances.
