Night Watch Advantages: Great film Disadvantages: nothing Night Watch. The film is based around a prophecy. A prophecy of balance and that one day there will be 'one' who tips the balance and then the light or the dark will rule the earth protectors of the light fight against followers of the dark in order for control. They are supernatural beings who can enter the twilight and draw their power from there. Anton is a member of the nightwatch and it is he who will be the main character of this film. ... ...soon all hell on earth is breaking loose. Anton proves to have more power than anyone thought. The ending is as expected considering this is the first of a trilogy The special effects are very good and the plot never slackens right from the battle scenes set in 1342 right up until, well... the ending, no reveals sorry. the dialogue is in Russian with subtitles which does detract from the overall enjoyment. It's like a friday night down my local Advantages: great all round entertaining movie Disadvantages: none really... Run, The Zombies Advantages: Influential and a great watch. Disadvantages: Dated there are better zombie movies out there these days. I doubt that when George A. Romero first created this b-movie on a budget of just $114,000, he realised it would become the inspiring and classic film it is today. Now seen as a semi-cult classic it is the king of the horror b-movies. Although it wasn't the first ever zombie movie, previous films such as Victor Halperin's White Zombie, were based on living people been controlled by a voodoo witch and were mainly set in the Carribean. The Night of the Living Dead. Muhahaha Advantages: I want this to happen to me. IT'S FREE Disadvantages: The woman's acting is really crap the rest were fine though ...THIS DVD I FOUND OUT THE COPYRIGHT FOR IT IS OUT-OF-DATE OR SOMETHNG AND YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT LEGALLY FOR FREE. So this is one of the original Zombie flicks. It's made in the days when zombies were zombies slow walking and murderous and a bit stupid. Not like todays versions were zombies are running all over the show making us Livies look really unfit. It's all that fruit and fibre people are eating it's affecting their afterlife and all. remake/remodel Advantages: in colour rather than colourised Disadvantages: lacks the originals bite ...zombies have been awakened from the dead and are on a relentless killing and eating binge. Re-make of the 1968 George Romero classic. Filmographies, Theatrical Trailer, Making Of, Directors Commentary,Region 2 I enjoyed this film when I first saw it in the early 90's - the main reason for this was that I saw it at a horror festival, it was directed by Tom Savini (FX guru) and it was in colour. Watching it again 15 years later and after seeing ... ...like a missed opportunity. Also the fact that the main character in the original was black and the film was also seen as a comment on the social landscape of the late 60's neuters this remake somewhat as there is no longer any "message" or "comment" to make. As with the Dawn of The Dead remake the message has to be ditched as it is no longer relevant to the time the remake was made.
