3 Classic Horror Movies from the Past
Review of 3 Classic Horrors Of The Silver Screen - Vol. 3 - Little Shop Of Horrors / The Bat / Bride Of The Monster DVD by ladyvalmont

Advantages: Engaging Story Lines
Disadvantages: Lack of special effects due to production period

...the genre of horror, these 3 classics can bring enjoyment to all those that appreciate horror of high quality. With the use of compelling storylines and gruesome images, the viewer is left always anxious at what would come next - that's how true horror began to develop. Through these elements, those who watch it forget the fanciful special effects that present day cinema offers and is taken in by this collection's creative brilliance. All 3 movies ...
...plot lines and cinematic professionalism. "Little Shop of Horrors" focusses more on the "horrible" part of horror movies, whereas "The Bat" proves as having more of a psychological effect on the viewers. "The Bride of the Monster" is for all those who are interested in the horror genre as a whole - one of the movies that inspired future horror producers. ... Read review

The Little Shop Of Horrors DVD
Review of The Little Shop Of Horrors DVD by y01larkin

Advantages: good film once you get into it
Disadvantages: takes a bit to get into the film

...surrounding them somehow know all the words. But even I am completely captivated by "Little Shop of Horrors", with its Motown-esque numbers, stellar cast, and dark yet hilarious brand of humour. Rick Moranis - showing off a surprisingly competent singing voice - takes the lead as down-on-his-luck uber-nerd Seymour Krelborn, the plant store assistant whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of a "mean green mother from outer-space". The newcomer ...
...sudden barrage of customers to the shop, but there's a catch. Audrey II has developed a taste for blood, and before too long Seymour's gonna have to feed him. On top form is Steve Martin as the floppy-fringed dentist who, when not exercising his particularly painful line in tooth-extraction, is squeaky-voiced Audrey's less-than-doting boyfriend. Also popping up along the way are the late great John Candy as a wacko radio DJ, James Belushi as an ... Read review

Fun shop of murdering
Review of The Little Shop Of Horrors DVD by jaisonix

Advantages: Worth Seeing, Cheap, Really Fun
Disadvantages: For specific audiences only, cover makes different picture from the film

...comedy is still on sale, the comedy itself is far away more developed that it's year of release, although this movie can only attract just two types of audiences: 1: Crazy comedies' fans or 2: Fans which seen this comedy of it's year of release. Firstly, this film is not the one which calls itself a comedy and makes you sleep at the lunch time, "Little Shop of Horrors" really makes you laugh, doesn't matter who or how old are you, you always going ...
...more victims to feed it, the story tells a real- life situations as in 1960's funniest form available, when the person gets a lot, he always wants more... Actors are trying to perform at their best, especially i seen the great performance on the main characters (starring Jonathan Haze and Jack Nicholson), although their emotions are certainly unreal and film has made some clear errors. Audio and voice quality are great as for old-age black and white ... Read review

little shop of horrors - the original version
Review of The Little Shop Of Horrors DVD by magoogy

Advantages: brilliant
Disadvantages: black and white

...original version is by far the best - the actors are a lot better than the later version - you have;- Jonathan Haze, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles, Dick Miller, Myrtle Vail this version is in black and white which for some reason makes it scarier than the updated version. The basic plot is that a nerdy florist called seymour falls in love with audrey and names one of his plants (a venus flytrap) after her - he spends most of his day tending to the ... Read review

a great family film
Review of The Little Shop Of Horrors DVD by blasphemous_girl

Advantages: funny and a must-see
Disadvantages: may not be suitable for younger children

...and although I do enjoy the Rick Moranis remake, I do adore this version. Steve Martin is brilliant in the newer one, but Jack Nicholson rivals him for comedy performance in the original. Behind the comedic plot of a giant-talking-man-eating plant that needs more meat as it grows bigger and bigger, the story is rather sad, as poor Seymour tries his best to satisy Audrey ll (the plant) and the girl of his dreams Audrey. A few laughs are definate with ... Read review
